This is a lovely friendly little restaurant in typical Perigourdin style - an old stone building which used to be the Presbytery. Modern furnishings, linen tablecloths etc on interior tables; the garden/terrace is very pretty and tranquil.
Lunch menu is amazing value at 10€ per person. Aperitifs & wine all very reasonably priced. The lunch menu is a buffet choice for entrees & desserts - as much as you want from a selection of fresh dishes. Each day there is a good choice of 3 or 4 main courses served with an accompanying vegetable eg the house speciality mashed potatoes with chives & lardons or home-made frites, etc. We were actually offered a cheese course the last visit we made but I don't think that is normally a part of the 10€ menu - may just depend on the day! The home made Ile Flottante dessert (light meringue floating on creme anglaise ie custard), is to die for!! There is also a selection of fresh fruit etc and chocolate mousse amongst the desserts.
Our bill for 2 people for aperos, meal, wine & coffees came to 28€ - great value in anyone's book!
This is the type of restaurant locals & tourists are always looking for - nice ambiance, amazing value and tasty food etc. It is a gem and well worth the short drive out from Perigueux. There's always been a number of French dining there at lunchtime on the 3 or 4 occasions we have been there. Highly recommended.
