“Good value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Typical Ibis hotel. Clean and comfortable. Room a little small. Staff friendly. Off street parking at rear for a nominal price.
Right in the centre of town made the location perfect for exploring on foot.

A whole group of us were staying here as part of the travelling marshalls for the London to Lisbon rally. We had a great meal laid on for us all, chicken and chips!!! there was also plenty of wine flowing and all with good humour from the staff. Breakfast was simple yet very good and the underground parking kept all our vehicles safe

We stayed here in July 2012. We stayed in a larger room as we were travelling with our two small children aged 1 and 3 at the time. The hotel provided two baby travel beds which was perfectly adequate. We were all in the same room though which meant going to bed earlier than normal.
Hotel room was clean and furntiture was fine. Parking was included.
Breakfast was very good. I enjoyed squeezing my own orange juice each day. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. I don't think there was any room service available but I can't remember. there is certainly no other meal available.
Location was good... just a short walk to the centre. Parking was secure.

If this is typical Ibis I might be staying there more often. Clean, well kept, warm and comfortable. The room was a little small but I was alone so that was not a problem. The bathroom was standard and very clean, though a bit small. Good shower. The staff at the desk was very helpful and the location was perfect.

Very pleased with our 4 night stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful. The location was ideal and fitted in with our plans. The rooms are a little bit on the small side but this wan not a major problem.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We spent on night there in October 2012 when travelling around Southern France. In general the hotel is clean. The room was small--typical Ibis. Somebody mentioned this already: this hotel is located on a street closed to the general car traffic. To get to the hotel by car, you have to ring a bell on a post a hundred meter from the hotel. Then somebody will remotely lower the bollards for you. It took us 10 minutes and an advice from a local French girl to figure this out. Small parking lot means a lot of manoeuvring with an average size car. Hotel is located in the centre of the city, pretty close to many restaurants. The morning guy at the reception was really friendly, but a lady on the previous night had probably a bad hair day, or the word "smile" was not in her vocabulary. Nothing bad, but she was just very formal. If you consider 9 euro for breakfast excessive, there is a small shopping area 150 meters from the hotel, with a decent grocery shop in the basement. Exit the hotel through the back, close to the parking, and walk, finally crossing the street with buses. Make your breakfast shopping there. In summary, we would return to this hotel if we are back to Pau. This location offers a good balance of the price to service ratio.

We stayed here on our way from Spain to UK, as we wanted to have a better look at Pau itself. Previously we have always stayed on the outskirts, and not been able to see much in the time we had available,
The first hurdle was getting to the hotel in our car as it is on a pedestrian area, with retracting bollards keeping people out. Having parked up and walked to the hotel to enquire about the required procedure, it's as simple as pressing a button and saying "Ibis" to the disembodied voice.
The hotel was clean, bed comfy, room ok altho not huge. Staff were helpful if a bit young and inexperienced at times. The check out guy couldn't handle a prepaid booking, and wanted me to pay again, until his more senior colleague stepped in.
The parking is very small and we felt it was not particularly safe, bearing in mind we had most of our luggage still in the car. So we begrudgingly paid an extra 10 euro to park in the secured underground car park.
We did not eat in the hotel at all, so cannot comment on that.
