“A no-frills apartment hotel in the centre of Biarritz”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

We stayed in an apartment with a bedroom and 2 bunk beds for 2 nights in May. We appreciated the great location right in the center of town and activity, a mere 15 minutes stroll to the beach and market area. We also liked having the kitchenette to prepare snacks and drinks, as well as the spacious living room to unwind during the evenings. However, do note that it is not a full-service hotel, and there may be minor inconveniences to endure, such as no counter service during the afternoons and limited concierge services etc. I also found the cleanliness standards a little lacking, with the linens on the bunk bed quite sandy on the first night. So if you are particular about having your creature comforts, it would be best to stay in a regular hotel.

This aparthotel is located just 2 minutes walk from the centre of town. It is very clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The apartments are very well equipped. There is cable TV with lots of TV stations but none in English. That didn't worry us but may be an issue if you are staying there with young children. Although the reception is not staffed 24 hours a day, there is a number to call if you need help.

These apartments are described as 4 stars. I wouldn't really concur with that. I can't find fault with anything at all but I just imagine a little more luxurious surroundings in a 4 star hotel.

Breakfast is available (continental-style) at €9 per head. I wouldn't bother. There is a fabulous bakery 2 mins walk from the hotel where you can get everything you need for breakfast.

For food shopping, there is a Carrefour supermarket about 10 mins walk away that will have all you need. It's open till 9pm Mon-Sat and until 1pm on Sunday.

Restaurants are pricey for what you get but we found a fabulous place called 'La Pizzeria' in Les Colonnes, about 5 mins walk. Great food, big portions and very reasonably priced.

We'd use this hotel again if we go back to Biarritz so I hope that's a good recommendation.

Room Tip: Rooms with a garden view are quieter but cost a little more.

Our group of four spent two nights in this hotel which is in a great location. The beach was less a ten minute walk away and there is a good restaurant just opposite called Le Goule. Our room was more of an apartment as it had a sitting room and kitchen with a pleasant balcony which overlooked a pretty garden.
There was a good sized bedroom however the other two beds were bunk beds which were in an alcove in the hall area. This might be all right for children but was not ideal for adult travellers.
The lobby of this hotel is lovely and the staff very pleasant. We payed 480 for two nights which I felt was expensive.

Great location a few minutes from the beach and the shops! Apartment functional 3 girls staying here I drew the short straw and got the bunk beds which were fine but it was more like a closet than a room no door! Staff were nice when you could find them reception only staffed about 5 hours a day so good luck if you want to find a good restaurant or a taxi, but you get what you pay for so no complaints! Biarattz lovely small town very friendly and we enjoyed our stay, bit of advice visit st jean de luz 30 mins on the bus beautiful quaint little town lots of little shops and restaurants so well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Apartments all the same! Very good for families

We had a two bedroomed apartment for 5 nights for two of us. The double bedroom is adequate. Plenty of storage. The second bedroom is more like a cupboard with two bunks. The couch in the lounge folds down to a bed. Kitchen well equiped, fridge, stove, microwave etc. The staff were excellent and all spoke good English. As we had a kitchen we did not have breakfast in the lobby. Apartment is in a side street a minutes walk to centre of town. Plenty of Boulangeries close by. Market only a couple of minutes away and a supermarket adjacent to this. You will need to ask at reception for the directions. Beach 5 minutes at the most! Bus to the train station is very close. This is a great location and good value for money.

Room Tip: All the rooms are of the same size apparently, I asked if they had 3 bedrooms but they don't.

This is an aparthotel. It is about 5 mins walk to the beach, and 3 min walk to the town. We stayed in an apartment with a double bedroom, bunk beds (cleverly placed in the hallway) with a curtain to block out light. The lounge was spacious with a dining table, and sofa settee. The kitchen is adequate with dishwasher, cooker, fridge etc, and ample dishes, saucepans etc.
Our balcolny looked over the park at the back of the hotel. This was lovely, as it was quieter than the rooms on the roadside and we spent many an enjoyable night watching the world go by.
Parking in the garage is about 12 euro a day, and extremely secure, so I would recommend booking a space when you book your holiday. (There are not many spaces, and am sure it would cost you the same, or maybe more in the big public carparks.
This is a good place to stay for any one, especially families, as you can eat "at home" quite cheaply, and make picnics for lunch on the beach. There are several bakeries near by and an supermarket in town, so no need to take the car to buy supplies.

Room Tip: Whilst the balcolny on the roadside is a little bigger, it can be noisy, so choose one overlooking t...

The apartments are spacious, comfortable and well equipped (ours did have a microwave.) Perfect for ourselves and our two girls, ages five and three. The staff are friendly and very helpful; they helped us with everything from restaurant bookings to activities for the kids on a rainy day, and they even found and returned some items we forgot in our room at the end of our stay. We have already been back twice and will return again.
