“Attraactive, friendly small hotel close to centre of Biarritz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2011

A great place to relax, with beautifully decorated bedrooms and communal areas. Friendly, helpful staff and so close to the activities of Biarritz. Wonderful small hotel, within easy reach of many good restaurants, and stuning coastal walks.

Stayed with a group of golfing friends and found the staff very helpful and professional. The hotel is well sited near to a number of tapas bars and is excellent. Probably not the best for young children but it has an awful lot going for it. I will go back....David

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in September 2010. Had a great saty in Biarritz and would definitely recommend this hotel. Might be better to go for a superior room rather than standard as we found it a bit small. One other minor gripe, there was no mirror in the bedroom so had some difficulty blowdrying hair without a mirror to look into!
lovely balcony and bathroom, cleaned very well every day.

We had to choose our hotel in Biarritz in the last minute and our options were really limited - everything was booked months in advance because of the Bayonne festivities. We picked a standard room at Edouard VII at 118 euros a night and we did not regret it.

The hotel is charming. It is a nineteenth century three-storey building which has largely kept the original decor: lots of wooden panels, squaking wooden floors, old-fashioned mirrors. Some may not appreciate the fact that there is no lift but the reception people offer to carry luggage for you upstairs. It is located uphill if coming from the beach but it is not actually that far and there are many side streets to explore on the way. Rooms are large and clean, we did not have any problems with the bed (I think many of these bed buds claims are false or self-fulfilling prophecies).

More a Guest House then a Hotel but dont let that put you off.
It is a lovely place to stay. The first room they showed us had
a Queen Size Bed which did not suit.We were upgraded to a
Superior Room at no extra cost.
The location is excellent 10 minutes
to centre, nice bars and restaurants nearby.Would certainly stay
here again.A special word of thanks to Joanna for all her assistance.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The staff were very friendly, the rooms comfortable but the best thing for us was the location - 10 minutes from the main surfing beach and a two minute walk to les Halles (the covered market). A typically fabulous french market where we had our breakfast each morning - don't miss it !

Visited this hotel for two nights in October 09. The purpose of trip was to watch rugby and sightsee.
The lovely old hotel was located just off the centre with other hotels in a residential area. It took 5/10 minutes to walk to the sea front and to bar/shops/restaurants. There is a fabulous food market about 5 minutes away which is worth seeing (not sure what days of the week it's open - we went on a Saturday morning).
First impressions when we arrived at the hotel, was how calm and quiet it seemed, also it smelt beautifully clean and fresh. The furnishings were tasteful and it felt uncluttered. We stayed in a superior room which was spacious, with a king size bed and also had a good sized bathroom with hairdryer. We paid an extra 10 euros per person for breakfast, which consisted of bread, pastries, two cereals, fruit, cheese, ham, toast, jam, coffee, tea, orange juice.
I booked the hotel by phone with an extremely helpful lady called Daisy, who was just lovely. Other staff at the hotel were pleasant.
No traffice noise or indeed any noise during the night.
On the negative side, parking was a slight problem, once we knew where to go it was fine.
I would return to this hotel.
