“Best way to spend Sunday morning in Bordeaux”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

Get there around 10:30am if you want to avoid the crowds at the most popular stalls, although there are plenty to go around. Just a short stroll or tram ride from the centre, we had a great time in the autumn sunshine, just people watching and enjoying freshly shucked oysters in various sizes, mussels, snails, assorted other cooked seafood, meats, veggies and of course many delicious pastries to die for. The only thing it lacks is and espresso van for those who can't handle a wine or 2 1st in the morning. Suggest you collect one on the way and enjoy Bordeaux central at its best.

“Fresh oysters, baguette, and butter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

We love love love this place. The selections of foods are amazing (a must for foodies!). We went there on a sunny day and the atmosphere was just lovely (as Shem H puts is, "bustling with happiness"). Enjoy the sights of beautiful foods and people, watch the street musicians and the children playing, and eat eat and eat.

“A must!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

I love this market for so many reasons...
-great way to try a variety of local foods (oysters, crepes, pastries, the best rotisserie chicken you have ever had, fresh produce, sauces.... I could go on forever).
- The walk along the river is great and bustling with happiness
-There are play grounds for children and a massive skate park for all ages to either watch the pros or let your kids play in.
It is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and you want to see photos and more details check out my blog www.coconutsandcardamom.com

“Designer shops on Quay front”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

There are a number of designer shops and outlets situated on the quay side. This area is easily accessible via the local tram bus or car, free parking available.
These shops are still expensive even though they are supposed to be outlet stores. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes and it is worth a visit just for the location along the riverside.

“This is a great place to eat lunch on Sunday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Dont be confused with the Marche de Puce (flea market) This is a sunday market along the river, north of Place Quinconces. It is a typical french market with vegtables, fish, meats, and gifty stuff, but this also is extremely popular for lunch. Arrive early, enjoy the shopping and select a lunch before too late, as the lines are long and the food runs out. But they are there rain or shine all year long.

ANother market along the quais is the flea market, every day but Monday, it is just South of the main stone bridge (with the arches). Its alot of fun especially Sunday when the shopping is more antiques and wonderful french collectibles
