I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the station which was the only positive. There was a blood stain on the bed cover and dried urine on the toilet seat which clearly had not been cleaned properly. The walls were very thin also. The floors were filthy and there were holes in the curtain. This place needs a total refurb. It was terrible for the price!

I would not recommend to another single female traveller as I did not feel very safe at all. This is not the safest part of Bordeaux either so I recommend spending the extra on a taxi and staying somewhere like the Majestic which I stayed at on my way back through Bordeaux. It was cheaper, much cleaner, nicer and in a much better area. Very disapointing for an Ibis.

The good points were free wireless internet and distance from St Jean.

While I have no doubt there are better hotels in Bordeaux I was there for a large tradeshow and the location & price relative to other options were good.

The room is basic but the bed was fine and the shower decent. The only issue was that the air con came on for a few hours at night and shut off.

If I was coming for a weekend with my wife I would upgrade to a better hotel but for a functional hotel for work at a good price this did the job.

We were given room 117 on the 1st night of our stay. This room should never be offered to any of the guest. It is stuffy, cramped and so noisy that it is impossible to sleep. This room is directly above the car park, you hear the late check in and early departures. The man staying with his family next door had to tell us not to use the hair dryer so that his son could sleep. We were waken many times by nosies and it is the worse Ibis ever experienced.
We were changed to another room, 422, for the 2nd night after complaining. Problem is we only had limited days in Bordeaux and the lack of sleep for the 1st night had caused a waste of our 2nd day there as we were very tired then and had to get some sleep instead of sightseeing as planned. Room 422 was fine although it is stuffy, we got some peace and quiet at least.
We were given breakfast vouchers which we thought was inclusive in the price. However, we were billed later. We feel that we should be told of this before hand.

Reasonable Ibis, pretty close to the Station. It's perfectly good, but I would guess that it was orginally an Arcade (rebranded into Ibis about 10 years ago) and so is a little simpler in decor than more modern Ibises. Breakfast reasonable. However, if you are staying in Bordeaux, I'd suggest going into the centre (it's about a mile away). The area around the station, although safe, is a little run down and the downtown's much, much nicer: I'd never been to an area in France that has that many kebab shops (felt like about two square miles of them around the hotel and to the East of downtown). Nowhere enticing for an evening meal until you get right into the centre.

We needed a hotel for an overnight stay close to the Bordeaux railway station and the ticket office clerk in the station itself made the reservation for us.

Access was easy by car along a one way system. Our GPS system helped greatly. You would need a good map otherwise. There is an unmetered car park right across the road in front of the hotel which we used whilst checking in, then we left the car overnight in the secure hotel parking.

Reception was very efficient and we dealt with two different receptionists on different shifts, both very pleasant. My wife and I teach in a hotel school so we are quite objective about service. They were good.

The rooms were clean, small but self contained. Inner and outer double glazed windows and and night shades kept any street noise or street lights out.

We didn't eat in the hotel, preferring to have dinner out. The next morning my wife left on the TGV for Paris at 5.25 am and when I got back to the hotel after seeing her onto the train, although the dining room and cafeteria were open, I headed straight off for the drive back to Spain.

In summary, the hotel is very convenient for an overnight stay near the station and we would definitely use it again.
