“Great space, interesting exhibits, brilliant building and decent Sunday brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This old harbour warehouse makes a brilliant location for this comtemporary art museum. It has its own metro/ tram stop, but is walking distance from the heart of Bordeaux

The various exhibits were well presented and there was plenty of interest . We visited during the Sylvia Sleigh exhibition and this was an introduction for us to this Welsh born , American Realist pushing out the boat to reverse sexual stereotypes in art. We enjoyed it and the rest of the museum too. The exhibit concerning the role of the modern Stadium was most thought provoking.

Of course there were rows of rubble , heaps of coal and buckets of hard core. Artists , curators, time to move on, ennui, ennui, ennui.

So we did , up to the top floor for a great Sunday brunch, with outside space and great friendly service .

“Amazing space, needs a curator”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

Very impressive space but desperately in need of a decent curator and some decent art works. Cafe was a big disappointment: dark, claustrophobic, intrusive music and screaming children. Couldn't wait to get out.

“Interesting...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

I agree with other reviews that the museum is empty but what is on exhibit is good and the building is worth seeing. It was interesting watching the construction of an upcoming exhibit. Also, there was a fascinating exhibit on sustainable architecture in Africa. All in all it was a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours on a rainy day.

“Great Building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

The museum is housed in the old Maritime Bourse of Bordeaux and is worth a visit for this alone.
A new large exhibit was in the process of being constructed in the main "hall" so there was no entry charge for the rest of the museum. What was on offer was well worth seeing although not very extensive. Nice roof top cafe
