“Archaeology”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

This museum shows the way the town has developed since stone age settlement. it is very comptrehensive, has some interactive elements for children and does not either dumb down or try to be too academic. i came away with a good idea of how the town grew.

“Treasure Trove”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

The Museum is located in the Palais du Rohan, just to the side of the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Palais has three museums. This is the only one we saw. It costs 6e per person.

This place is totally under utilized. The history of Strasbourg area is traced through the ages beginning with Neolithic times. Although when I came downstairs they started me in an area that was on painting. This may be a special exhibit. It was interesting but I thought that was it. The place is huge. I took a picture of an Auroch's horns. I have read about them for years but I have never seen any part of one. This was exciting for me. Each area had a lot of information in French but there were big posters on the walls that had an English translation so you could get a general idea of what they were talking about in French. There was definitely a lot of Roman artifacts and an entire area on tombs. Very

“My favorite museum in Strasbourg.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2010

This is a surprisingly large collection of Roman artifacts. Most are labeled in French, but knowing a few words will help you understand most of what you are viewing. We spent much longer in here then we had expected and had we not felt pressure to view other attractions in the city we would have stayed longer.

“extensive and well displayed museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2010

Even though this museum is covered under the Paiais de Rohan attraction, it is worth noting on its own. I thought this museum was excellent, it is very extensive and well displayed. The use of lighing in the darkened rooms was quite effective.

One interesting display to note were the ancient skeletons that were in glass boxes at floor level. My kids really enjoyed looking at those!

You can buy one ticket for all 3 museums in the building for only a little more then just for one museum.

There is a car park about three blocks away which then allows you to visit this plus the other attractions like the Cathedral.
