We stayed 1 night during the christmas market in strasbourg. We liked the nostalgic interior of the hotel. The hotel is situated perfectly in front of the cathedral. You have shops, restaurants, parking space and last but not least the christmas market nearby.

Very nice hotel, friendly welcome.
Hotel is located on pedestrian street, it accessible by car for checking in but you need to drive down pedestrian streets (it is allowable), from rue du le douane (with the river on your right) drive straight on down a pedestrian way (rue de la grande boucherie and turn left on to rue du vieil hopital and there is a small square at the end of the way up a couple of steps, drive up and park there and you can walk through the restaurant to the reception.
Best place for parking car is Gutenberg car park, it was €13 for the night and is a 1 minute walk to the hotel past the cathedral.
Room 404 (deluxe double) gives a view of the cathedral but 403 and 402 would give better views
(the bells do ring every hour but did not wake me during the night).
Breakfast was €15 and had small cooked selection plus continental. On check in I received a 10% discount voucher for evening meal, reasonable selection and as I was travelling on business on my own I stopped in the hotel for food which was a very nice meal.
Room was very clean and comfortable and very well decorated (wardrobe in your face as you enter and not the best, but you can shut the bedroom door to hide it). Bathroom was OK with bathrobes and the usual shower gel, shampoo etc.
You are in the centre of Strasbourg so ideal for exploring, Petit France is only a few minutes walk and is a lovely area worth a visit for the scenery.
Some excellent restaurants and cafe's locally all serving great food and wine.

Strasbourg, one of favorite European cities, multiple visit s, never get enough. Hotel very clean with chique (chic) contemporary feel. Nicely appointed, very friendly helpful staff. Breakfast very good
And location short (10 min) walk to petit france. Wouldn't hesitate for moment to stay again. Enjoy.

Hotel is perfectly located in the very heart of the Old City and practically next to the Cathedral. It is in one of the main streets with restaurants and bars.
The rooms are decent and clean as is the bathroom. Standard rooms are fairly small. Wifi is fast and free. Breakfast is fine, too. Service is decent and supportive.
A fine experience and recommendable, although nothing too special.

A perfectly located hotel with fine amenities, but to me a 3 star or 3 star superior rather than 4 star.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have fantastic views, but can be a bot noisy. Rooms at the back no view and no no...

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

The standard rooms will be renovated in January 2015 and we can't wait for them to be finally done.

Hoping to welcome you and show the difference, we wish you a nice day

great location steps from the cathedral...The double paned windows muffle the cathedral bells.
VERY helpful staff..small lobby, modern decor.

My sister has a completely renovated room and it was fabulous. Great use of color and style, modern bathroom, everything spiffy. Note: the renovated Comfort Rooms are small. She upgraded as we were staying for four nights. For one or two nights the Comfort Rooms would be fine.

Oh, we had an empty refrigerator, yeah!! so we brought yogurt and juice and such for breakfast in the room as well as various goodies for picnic lunches.

My husband and I had a traditional room, not yet renovated. It was big, good size modern-enough bathroom, but kind of tired. The helpful ladies at the front desk told us they expect the renovation to be complete by 2015.

I would stay there again--location is perfect and the staff very helpful. It's about a 15 minute walk from the train station.

Room Tip: ask for a renovated room---the traditional rooms are a bit dreary

We were steered to this hotel from the Karen Brown Travel site and could not be happier with this small remodeled property only steps from the cathedral and the river. Pleasant English speaking staff made our feeble high school French unnecessary...they gave us perfect instructions to arrive by train and take the local tram and pedestrian routes to the Hotel, took care of our every needs, saved us an English newspaper, AND, the best ice cream in Europe, Amorino, is just outside the back door. Location Location, Location!

Room Tip: Wi-fi was weK in the rooms, better in the lobby
