I've stayed here several times for conferences in Strasbourg, most recently in June 2014, and would highly recommend this charming hotel to solo travelers or couples. The hotel is fairly well located, just 5-10 minutes by foot from the city center, a main bus line stops right outside the hotel, and the tram is just a minute away. Without exception, everyone working here is friendly and down to earth, and seems genuinely interested in ensuring that your stay is the best it can be. It's true old school charm and style --they warmly welcomed me at check-in and handed me my room key without even asking for an ID or credit card! (Once checked in, you actually leave your key at the front desk whenever you go out for the day or evening and they give it back to you when you return.) They also have an execellent breakfast buffet for 10 euros, well worth the price. The one thing I would note as another reviewer has noted is that the elevator only goes to the 4th floor so you'll need to walk a flight and a long hallway if your room is on the 5th floor. If that's a problem for you, just ask for a lower floor room.
