“Good value, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We had two neighbouring rooms for us and our two kids. Rooms were small but clean, and beds were comfy. Air con worked which was just as well as it was over 30 degrees outside.
It's not luxury, but that's not what you're paying for. For the price it was good vaue and in a convenient spot for accessing the town on foot.
There was plenty of underground parking which I found a bit claustrophobic but that's just me! We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.

We stayed 2 nights at this budget hotel, this was #2 out of 6 Ibis hotels in 2 months. Located next beside the Novotel and mall. Approx. 15-20 min walk from the train station, 5 min. to shopping and the church. Check their website for the “city breaks” deals. House cleaning starts around 8am, so use the “DND” if you need it. Did not try the restaurant but they are good deals, but I like the Paul in the mall.

Pros: Ibis hallmarks: easy check-in/out , 12pm check-in and out, city maps, clean, good water pressure, decent sound proofing and comfortable beds. We did not hear any street noise. Good, pleasant staff. Free internet access at reception, 1 terminal. Pay wifi. Note: reservations can be made to other locations but you will miss out on any online discounts, if you can book online.

Cons: This Ibis needs some care on the outside. This hotel could use some security or deterrence out front as there are street people passing time outside on the steps. Not threatening, just loitering but you can tell it bothered some guests. However, once inside it has all the earmarks of the reliable Ibis brand.

We stayed in this hotel in August and we can’t complain. Like others reviewers say, it is an Ibis, and once you’ve seen in one, you’ve seen all. The room was small, but enough for two people. It was clean and tv, bathroom and air conditioning worked all right. We didn’t have breakfast, so we can’t comment on that, but if you want you can buy a croissant or a pain au chocolat and a coffee in a bakery and it is cheaper (we went to buy our buns and sandwiches to one close to the train station called Les Tendres and they were really good. If not, at Kebler’s square there are a couple of bakeries like Brioche Dorée or Paul). The staff was friendly at the reception and gave us information and maps of the city.
The location of the hotel is really good. In five minutes (walking) you are at the cathedral, and if you come from the train station is just 10 minutes. You don’t need to take a bus or a tram to visit the city and in any moment you can return to your room to rest or to have a shower in less than ten minutes. Plus there is a shopping mall under the hotel where you can buy food in a supermarket, and even have lunch or dinner if you want (there are some restaurants and a McDonald's inside).
All in all, a good place to stay in Strasbourg if you are on a budget (we paid 60 euros each day), clean and very convenient. We would recommend it with no doubt.

This was the second time we have stayed here and it does what it says on the tin. It is an IBIS and that is what you get. The rooms are small but clean. We paid 57 euros and that is a fair price. If you come in from the motorway from the north of the city the car park is VERY easy to find (we did not even fight navigating there!) and takes about 5 minutes. It is perfectly located with Petite France 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast is 9 euros and is fine - breads, pancakes, fruit, yoghurts, tortilla. You probably could find cheaper breakfasts elsewhere in the city but we just use this hotel as a Alps stopover and grab some food before we leave again. My only complaint is that the air con was not good though it was 35 degrees. However we had a very hot night and we could not open the windows as they were locked.

We had a great stay - right in the perfect location to get to all the great sites to see. Location couldn't have been better really! Small - but that's usual for Europe, and it wasn't an issue. Very friendly staff - and a great breakfast buffet - that wasn't too expensive! We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
