“Great base for the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

We had no problems with the hotel room. The room was very nice and well appointed. Slept very well here. Nice and quiet. Air conditioning worked well and the staff were very friendly. The location was good. Easy 5 or 10 minute walk to the historic areas and to the town centre. Close to the train station to get a transfer to the airport.

Breakfast was included. The water in the 'hot' water kettle was never very hot. Tepid at best every time I used it. Terrible for trying to make tea. Also, the boiled egg cooker has to be boiling. The wait staff kept turning it down to low. Not helpful.

Dear @A C,

I would like to thank you for your nice review! Its a pleasure for me to see that you enjoyed the facilities and decoration of your room.

You are totally right, cooking eggs in non-boiling water is ... crazy! I will check with the breakfast team why they always turn the boiler of and make sure it keeps boiling :). The heater of the kettle is ordered and I will receive the new one shortly. Thank you for letting me know!!

Have a nice summer and don't hesitate to get back to me directly for any question or help I could provide.

BEST regards,
Veronique Siegel, CEO

An excellent hotel in the town centre, the staff went out of their way to be helpful. I can thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a well run and welcoming stay. The garage is a plus for anyone with a car in the city as parking spaces are rare.

Dear @BM_Schweiz,

Thanks a lot for your great review and for your stay with us. You're right to recommend the reservation of the parking. As we are in the center, it is always preferrable to book it in advance.
I hope to have the pleasure of greeting you personnaly during a next stay in Strasbourg and wish you a nice summer time.
BEST and warm wishes,

Perfect location within 8 minutes walk of the petit France and 12 minutes of the cathedral. The hotel offers breakfast inclusive which was always busy and therefore not always enough bread or cheese. Still, the breakfast staff really worked hard to get everyone seated. The room was small but enough for us as we only needed a place to sleep. We slept on the street side which was quiet. The reception staff were very friendly and very helpful. Free wifi. We were there by car and we are happy that we booked a parking place. The garage is very small and sometimes we needed help from the "garage" man to park or to get out. Easy to leave the city by car to do the elzas wine tour.

My partner and I stayed here for the second time in a year on a visit to the beautiful city of Strasbourg from Scotland. We made a point of booking this hotel after an excellent experience last time and were not disappointed.

With an excellent location 250 metres from the railway station, it's very accessible and is an easy walk from the many attractions of the Grand Ile and Petite France. The staff are charming and helpful throughout the hotel. We had a Comfort room which was more than large enough, immaculately clean and very quiet. The bathroom was equally spotless and well-appointed. The corridors are newly refurbished with stylish light wood decor and new carpets. The lift is small but fine for two people with or without luggage.

Breakfast is of the continental variety with bread, pastries, meats and cheese plus scrambled eggs and sausages. The quality of everything is high, and staff regularly replenish everything.

The only small fault was that the wifi was very slow and frequently dropped out,but this is probably as much due to selfish guests hogging the bandwitdth with streaming etc as anything else. I don't visit a stunningly beautiful city like Strasbourg to surf the internet anyway.

This is a family run hotel, and it shows. Thanks to the management and staff for another enjoyable stay!

We used Strasbourg as a base to visit the beautiful Alsace region and for me to go to Mulhouse to visit the Auto Museum. Monopole Metropole is located just on the outer ring of the city centre making it easier for those driving to find a park, yet all within easy walking to the highlights of Strasbourg centre. We found the rooms to be of a good standard and the staff friendly and courteous. I would happily stay here in the future.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel, in an executive room. The hotel is near the train station and a short stroll to the old town. There are numerous cheap eateries in a nearby street.
Our room was large with a street view, very clean, comfortable bed, large bathroom.
The ground floor has a bar/ lounge area, a non smoking lounge and a very large breakfast room. Lots of character with timber beams and elegant furniture.
Breakfast was included in our rate, a self serve buffet with a good range of fruits, cereals, yoghurts, cold cuts, eggs, baguettes, and excellent coffee.

Room Tip: 'Executive' rooms seem to be on street side (nicer view) and larger than 'comfort' r...

A few blocks from the train station and a couple of blocks of the old city, it is the perfect location. Beautiful room in the first floor, very large. Inside the room you feel at an old castle, with all the modern facilities. Breakfast served at the ground floor is very good. Very nice personell and for 13 Euros, they have parking a few steps from the Hotel. They lent us a wheelchair , as my wife needed one, for all our stay
