“Excellent hotel, helpful staff amd extremly comfortable bed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2011

My girlfriend and I used this hotel as a stop over on the way back from Lake Garda and have to say that it was proabably the best hotel we stayed on the entire trip.

When we arrived the staff were extremly helpfull, the car was parked in their secure car park and luggage quickly wisked off to the room. The room was spacious and appeared to be recently decorated to a very high standard and even featured a Bose iPod dock which was a nice touch.

Most memorable part of the stay has to be the bed which was extremly comfortable. Highly recommended to anyone heading to Stasbourg or just stopping over.

Great location for city centre ie, Cathedral, boat trip and great (not expensive) restaurants.Hotel has own car park and cars parked by very pleasant young man however without a good sat. nav. would be very hard to find in small side street .The room we had was overlooking the inside court yard and could have done to have the carpet cleaned, very comfortable large bed and lots of toiletries, Did not eat in the Hotel . Drinks alone were highly priced.WE were told car parking was extra but we were not charged.

This was our third stay at the Strasbourg Sofitel. The experience much matched by the previous ones. It is a very sensible choice for a central location in the city with the added benefit of a car park for guests underneath the hotel. On arrival most of the staff on reception are polite, friendly and efficient, though there were certain attitude issues from one or two. The renovated rooms (Contempory) are lovely. Very comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms. The rooms are quiet (but we were staying at the weekends). Breakfast taken in the hotels dinning room is good, and the staff here excellent. At this recentt stay there was renovation work taking place, and there ample signs around the hotel warning of this, and appologising for any inconvenience caused. The main building does have a slightly 'dated appearance' from the ouside and in the main reception but in no way is this an issue. The bar in the hotel is very pleasant and had the advantage of seats outside on the square in good weather, the bar is well sticked and staff friendly and accomodating. We did not eat a main meal in the hotels restaurant. The only thing to be careful of, if you are driving, is getting to the hotel with the orad works cureently being done for the installation of a tram.

Simply put, thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Ensure that you are in a renovated room

Hotel is in a good location near all the sights but we found our room not so nice. We had a Junior-Suite and the room was rather shabby (Carpet stained, toilet seat worn etc.).

Very corporate feel, as you'd expect from this location. Middle managers spouting jargon over breakfast, 7am meetings in lobby areas. On the plus side: bed wonderfully comfortable, room pretty good (really two rooms, as we had a little sitting area) – with separate bathroom and loo. Location is excellent and very central, in a tree-lined square with outside seating. Reception area was virtually deserted on our arrival, corridors are papered with a brain-boggling red stripe throughout. Breakfast ok, not lavish.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service from the staff was excellent. Room was great and bed particularly comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. Very good location to see all the sights and the underground parking was a bonus.

The location is perfect, close to the place Kleber, and 10 min by foot to the petite France.
The staff is very nice.
If you have the choice, prefer the renovated rooms, there are much better.
The restaurant is also very good, with nice very fine cuisine.

Room Tip: Choose a deluxe room, big enough and renovated
