4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

very clean and calm hotel, easy to access by car and public transport. Impeccable service both at the reception, and in the room. Abundant breakfast, good choice of food, although the taste of croissants could be better... The same could be said about omelette.

Stayed in a great many Mercures and this one has to rate up there very highly. Decor fun and fresh, great use of space in my attic room. And although design of bathroom door a bit clumsy, overall a cosy room. Breakfast very limited and not super great, but attitude of staff overall very helpful and pleasant.

We had only an afternoon to see strasbourg before getting an early train the following morning. So having a hotel located near to the station was ideal. Considering some hotels near to train stations lack a bit due to the functionality of its location this hotel seemed lovely. We also had a road side room and you could barely hear the traffic. So a comfortable night sleep for both of us.

This was my first stay in a Mecure hotel, usually preferring to stay away from the chain hotels in favour of BnBs.
The property is in a great location directly across the traffic island from the central railway station. We were only a few blocks walk from the lovely old town sights such as the cathedral and Petite France.
There is a Europcar right next door too.
The hotel itself is all that you can expect from a large chain brand. Efficient friendly staff, clean rooms, standard TV channels, numerous services and goods available at a cost and additional charge for breakfast (16€)
We decided to eat breakfast downtown.

We slept well, were warm and comfortable and check in/check out was easy. Our room was on the 1stfloor (room 107) with the window facing the station, it was quiet in the room with no noticeable noise issues.

Would I stay here again? Yes certainly. It served its purpose well.

The Mercure Strasbourg Gare is perfectly located for business travelers since it's in front of the central train station. Tram and bus lines are also close by.

The rooms are up to the usual Mercure standard: comfortable, clean but maybe a bit old-fashioned. They're also a bit smaller than what I'm used to, but that seems to be a general thing in France. Internet is free but a bit slow.

Room service was quite slow and the selection of dishes was rather limited. The meal itself was nothing out of the ordinary either. So I'd recommend taking a short walk to the centre of town and trying one of the many local restaurants instead.

Comfortable hotel, close to the train station, safe and calm area.
Clean and smart. Large breakfast. Helpful personnel. Electric teapot in the room (but in the room of my colleague a kind of nespresso machine which did not work). Two only things of slight complain: the room was hot and there was no fridge for drinks.
