“Just a short stroll to Petit Venise (little Venice).”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

The hotel was just a short walk to the center and sigh Petit Venise. It has two amazing French bakeries within 2min walking get distance. Hotel staff very really friendly and rooms
were spotless. The fittings were all modern and definitely worth the money.

This hotel had the best location. It was right on the corner of old town Colmar near "Little Venice". A short 3 block walk brought you to the best restaurants about best view of the old homes and long the small paddle boats to take down the canal. The rooms are new and updated but the standard double is very very small with no room to really do anything but sleep. However the bathroom was big and modern.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the bigger double rooms for more comfort with two people plus luggage.

We stayed for two nights in this hotel, whilst travelling through France. The hotel was fantastic, everything as described in the booking. Its great value for money, right in the centre of Colmar, no more than a two minute walk from Little Venice. The staff were friendly, and the hotel provided lots of little extras (free of charge) like putting your picnic in their fridge and freezing your cool bag for you! The room was clean, a good size and very nicely decorated. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice, and very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel, I think in terms of value for money you cannot go wrong. There is also parking right outside the hotel which is free of charge - but is on a first come first served basis. We could not get a space on the second night but the hotel provides additional parking at a small fee (7euro a night I think). Colmar itself was beautiful, a real picture postcard idyllic town. We did the route de vin which is a great trip, with Riquewhir being probably the most beautiful of the villages and well worth a visit. Food and drink was reasonably priced in Colmar with lots of really nice places to eat - especially if the weather is good then you can sit by the water whilst having dinner.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the main road, but was not noisy or busy so it was not a problem.

Hotel Turenne has that Colmar traditional atmosphere. Located close to petite venise and not so far from the administrative side of Colmar. It is a splendour. If you want a simple, relaxed and tranquille stay: it's your best option. Not so expensive compared to the other hotels, they have a parking and you can even use the outside town parking all around the hotel. It is built in the Alsacien traditional setting and the decoration is splendid and simple. Turenne is also located on one of the quiet and not too populated sides of Colmar and that explains the calm atmosphere. There is the McDonalds Fast food also not far from Turenne. A Walking distance: in case you want to try fast food...

Room Tip: The hotel is mostly full, because it's the no1 choice for most of the tourists visiting Colmar...

We stayed in Hotel Turenne for five nights while touring Colmar and the surrounding area. Our room was quiet, the beds were exceeding comfortable, the free breakfasts were generous with a huge selection of food available. The staff was always pleasant and willing to make dinner reservations. There was a small bar where drinks were available during the day and evening at reasonable prices. The hotel is located very close to the historical part of town so it is more reasonably priced and very quiet. The hotel is very inviting and extremely well-cared for by the staff.

Room Tip: We paid for a slightly larger room on the top floor.

Nice traditional looking hotel close to petite venise area and the old town. We didn't have a problem with the rooms and the bathroom. Very clean and friendly, good english spoken although we can do the french. Nice breakfast, efficient WiFi. East access to Riquewhir - do go.

Parking bit of a pain for us - no room at the inn but enough space to drop off luggage so we lived. No lift to our room but as before. Would certainly go back - tomorrow!

Room Tip: Ask if you need a lift as ours was up 2 flights of narrow stairs - not that we minded.

The hotel is basic. Most of the rooms are very small. The "deluxe" room that we chose was a little larger but the cost premium was even larger. No room service available and the wi-fi not always worked. The personnel at the reception was always helpful and accomodating. Overall a mixed experience. BTW the next time i would not necessarily stay in Colmar. There are great accommodations outside the city at much more reasonable prices.
