Le 3 is an elegant, sophisticated restaurant with prices only one or two Euros per dish dearer than your average, run of the mill bistro or brasserie. We ate upstairs in a pleasantly lit room where the tables are separated from each other by a reasonable space instead of being jammed next to each other. There are several interesting art works on the walls. My wife couldn't control herself and had another choucroute garnie. It was good but without being unkind, one choucroute garnie is pretty much like another. She only managed to eat half of it, as I knew she would because it was such a large dish, as they all are. I had to sacrifice my body and eat the other half.
I was really smart and had the scallops with chorizo and red pesto, a much smaller dish but very tasty and expertly cooked. We also had a creme brûlée (the best I have ever had), a raspberry sorbet with brandy and raspberry sauce, a very good bottle of Chablis and two espressos. Total cost a very reasonable and almost very cheap €76 ($A 96).
The soft, background music was very pleasant and I was prepared to overlook that one track played was 'You're beautiful' by James Blunt. The food was so good that I didn't get indigestion from the song. The service was friendly, informal and efficient.
