“Great stop over hotel for a night.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We stopped here for one night on route to Italy and it met all our needs. Its all on one level which is good for people in wheel chairs. It has an XBox in reception which our teenage son loved and a few toys etc. The swimming pool is nice but cold and you can imagine you are somewhere amazing by looking towards the mountains and not towards the factories. The restaurant was fine for a quick family meal before bed and the staff were friendly throughout and welcoming, We had quite a nice couple of hours there. The room was ok as well but my Husband told me we had a superior room so I don't know about the basic rooms. Its a little bit threadbare in the corridors and you certainly don't feel like your in the lap of luxury here but it does a good job for the weary traveller. We had a sofa bed in the room with 2 single beds for our teenagers which was useful. This is an excellent stop over hotel for families and very good value for money. We would return.

Dear LittleCottage1972,
Thank you for your stay and for your feedback,
I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Superior room. This room has a fully renovated bathroom with a big shower.
With two teenagers, you certainly enjoyed our permanent offer for childrens : In Novotel, accommodation and breakfast are free for two children under the age of 16 staying in their parents' or grandparents' room and having breakfast as a family.
I hope you enjoyed your stay in Colmar, and will be happy to welcome you again,
Pascal Dumont

We stayed for three nights whilst visiting the nearby ' Wine Road' The price was very good and although the hotel is a bit tired around the edges, it was very comfortable and clean. The room was spacious with a small fridge, separate toilet, shower and bath. We stayed in a two story annex at right angles to the main block. There were no views but it was quiet, despite the airfield and nearby main road. The hotel has the feel of a 70's motel, low level and spread out. It is not the usual Novotel style but it grew on us and we enjoyed our stay. There is free parking and you are only 15 mins drive from the centre of Colmar. The staff were very helpful and made you feel welcome. The small swimming pool was a bonus after a day driving around the area. We did not use the bar or restaurant but they appeared quite inviting with an outside terrace with view over the airfield. The airfield is not busy and caters mainly for small planes and gliders, interesting to sit and watch the activity. There are a number of small eating places within walking distance of the Hotel. A replica of the ' Statue of Liberty ' stands on a nearby roundabout.

One night stay on our way back from Italy to Belgium.
Conveniently located near the highway. Small but refreshing pool. Restaurant surprisingly good. Check-in quick, friendly and professional. Not so happy about the rooms: small and getting older, malfunctioning airco (it wasn't broke, it was just a very poor system). As it was 35°C that day, we didn't get a good night sleep in an overheated and small room. Stains on the furniture and carpet, no toilet brush, ... Bed sheets were fine.
Conclusion: just ok for one night, but don't consider this when making a longer trip to the region.

Small rooms with no view, but clean and had what we needed. Nice breakfast, good value for money. We needed to find a pool for our son to cool off and this served the purpose well. Easy to find from the highway but quite far from the city centre.

Stayed here on way home from Italy and it was exactly what was needed:

- reasonable
- clean
- decent sized room
- good food at an acceptable price
- some entertainment options for the kids (video game console in lobby, swimming pool, bit of a green area)
- very close to the motorway so easy on/off

Room Tip: Superior rooms allow 2 children under 16 to sleep and eat breakfast for free
