Thankfully there are signs in the central part of Colmar pointing to the hotel or we never would have found it. I had specific directions but some of the streets do not have signs. They have free parking in the city lot about a two blocks away, which was easy to find (the desk gives you a map). My husband dropped off me and the luggage and then parked the car which worked very well, we reversed this when we left. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke several languages. Our room on the first (second) floor was charming but small. It was a little challenging for two people to move around the bed. Our room looked out on the courtyard. The bathroom facilities were recently updated. There was a beautiful tile shower which could hold about 4 people at once. The sink was a modern bucket shape and though very stylish could not hold water if you wanted to wash something.
We decided not to have the hotel breakfast on our first morning there and walked up the street to a small cafe that supposedly opened daily at 8AM - it was closed. We then found a small restaurant near the old custom's house that served breakfast - lots of bread, croissant, 1 cup of coffee and juice. 7.50E each. So on our last morning we ate at hotel buffet that opened at 7am. 12E, but they had fruit, yogurt, eggs, breads, meats, etc.
The hotel is in a great location. You can walk to everything, but even with a map one can get "lost" in Colmar.
