Dinning at this restaurant has got to be the most bizarre restaurant experience I’ve had. It was recommended by the reception staff in the hotel we stayed in. We didn't expect miracles but not this unfriendliness either.
When we walked in the place, my friends and I were seated in a lonely room, at the very back of the restaurant while there were available tables at the front. When I asked why, the hostess said that the rest of the restaurant was booked.
Then, it was like we received second rate service and were treated as the tourist, who will probably never come again so there is no reason to make any effort to please them what so ever.
Popping out of 'the room' at some point I noticed to my surprise that not only there were still empty tables at the front but also the rest of the customers were enjoying themselves in a much nicer atmosphere, drinking their wine in better glasses and -I know this sounds exaggerated- but even their plates looked better and bigger! It seemed to me that the only thing in which the hostess made no exceptions with us, was the bill, which was around 40€ per person including the wine. Speaking of the hostess, the service was pretty bad, speedy but unfriendly.
To conclude, even if you have some French friend in Colmar with whom you have no fear of being treated like ‘the tourist’ and be taken to the back room (!) I do not recommend this place since the food –at least the food we were served- is not worth it.
