“Chance visit but will definitely revisit if in the area.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Went in after having a terrible time in the Rump N NoRibs next door just on the oof chance and was very glad we did.
Great service, very tasty food. What more can I say?
From the little old boy dancing around with the food when he delivers it to our very attentive and friendly Liverpudlian waiter I cannot fault it. The food was hot and tasty.
If I had to pick on little bits then dressing on the salad would be good, although as soon as I asked there was some brought to the table and obviously the portions were too small. Not because they were but because the food was so tasty
The two things I would definitely pick on is the state of the mens bathroom, from a cracked urinal to a very badly damaged and flaky hand drier, there is definitely need to improve it in there and the other would be the auto adding of gratuity. I tip if I feel the need is there not out of necessity. On this occasion I would've left something regardless as the service was tip top.

Overall though a very enjoyable experience.

“Average pre-Theatre meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

We visited Don Giovanni's for a pre-Theatre meal, so didn't want a lot, just a decent meal served quickly.

The staff were very helpful in taking our reservation and in amending it when our plans changed. We had a wonderfully warm greeting by the host at the door, and were kept entertained by the barman during the short wait for our table. Unfortunately, these were the only two members of staff that really looked after us during our visit. Once we were escorted to our table it was no longer clear who was looking after us, as different people took our food and drinks orders, and different people again cleared the plates and brought the bill. No-one introduced themselves and not once during our visiting did anyone ask if either of the courses we had were OK, except the genial host on the way out who asked if we'd enjoyed our time.

The menu is good and broad, with plenty of choice for vegetarians, and gluten free options available too. Our food arrived quickly (we'd finished our starters before our first order of drinks showed up) and was really lovely; our party had bruschetta for starters and pizza and pasta for mains. The food is not expensive for the city centre. However, our meal was really spoilt by the loud music playing throughout which even our waiter couldn't hear our orders over. This however may have been particular to where we were sat because I didn't notice it at the bar.

In short, it was OK, but with so many other places nearby OK really isn't good enough to waste time on again. My recommendation? Try Felicini's down the street.

“Went in by chabce , glad we did!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

My partner and I had a lovely time at this restaurant. The food was good, the hostess was attentive and professional, Sam behind the bar was fab, atmosphere good ect. Only quibble would be our waiter who was a bit rushed and wasn't of the same quality as the other staff members.

We will definitely return when we visit Manchester again!
