“CHANGED MY OPINION”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

If you saw my review of another Nepalese restaurant, you will understand my reservations. It didn't help that parking is a nightmare. However the welcome was as warm & sunny as the evening. Cobra & Kingfisher on draught a +++++++ sign. The menu is a mix of the usual Indian?& Nepalese.. Chicken tikka & the seek kebab were excellent (the boss said the kebab was the best ever, tender & juicy) Ginger chicken was as ordered with extra heat, yummy. Chicken Korsani, was fantastic ( delivered on heat & flavour). A side order of dhall, naan & pillau rice accompanied the feast. All in all you changed my opinion of Nepalese food & restaurants. Very clean, comfortable. A little dated but personally I take comfortable with great food & service any day.

“Good Food, Good Portions and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Went on a Wednesday at 6pm and were the first customers. This is not an issue for us, but if you like a busy restaurant, don't go before 7:30.

We were dining with a promotional voucher which gave us starter, main, sundry and a drink. The starters were very Indian oriented but the main menu did have more Nepalese dishes. Waiters were efficient and friendly.

The dishes were all very tasty and in good sized portions, with a very large and fresh naan as accompaniment.

The only reason I didn't award 5 stars was that I felt that I was having and Indian experience rather than Nepalese, but this in no way detracts from the quality of the food.

“Some of the best Nepalese food you'll ever eat.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

Consistently outstanding, by far the best in Manchester and for us the best we have ever eaten (which is all over the globe) Many of our friends agree, we're very lucky indeed to have such a fantastic restaurant on our doorstep. Try the Kantipur Methi (off the bone) Madras heat for the most stunning of dishes.

“A very pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We chanced upon this Nepalese restaurant after hearing from a friend about " a great Indian" in West Didsbury and finding 2 Nepalese places next door to each other! The Kathmandu was busy and Namaste was empty but we took a risk on Namaste as there were more interesting vegetarian choices on their menu and they had a good deal of 2 "tapas" dishes (= starters!!) and a Nepali beer for £12. Almost as soon as we sat down the place started filling up. The staff were really friendly, they offer all sorts of incentives to return with loyalty stamps etc ( it`s a busy area!) but the point is the food is tasty and reasonably priced. We went for all Nepalese food to try although there`s plenty of Bengali choices. Paneer is particularly well represented (and the chilli paneer was luscious!) and my daughter loved the channa puri. Apparently the fish was also good. In a city of so many "Indian/Bangladeshi " restaurants this is different and worth a try. We will return.
