“Fantastic Nepalese cuisine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We have recently moved to West Didsbury and have visited the Gurkha Grill 3 times. Each time we have had a warm welcome and the food quality is excellent. The Gurkha beer is also good. Service attentive and not too expensive.

“Excellent curry and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

I have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions we do try other curry restaurants from time to time but keep coming back here as I is soooo good. All the food is so freshly prepared and tasty. Meat is tender and generous and the popadoms are the best I have had anywhere. They seem to just hit it right with choice, flavour and quality. Can't be beaten for value, friendliness and taste. The staff are amazing and always seem to remember you. They brought us an extra dish just to try a hot chicken and bean salad it is worth asking for recommendations and being a bit more adventurous.

“Great curry”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Went with my brother and sister on Saturday night, very friendly attentive staff, i asked for a dish not on the menu and they were happy to oblige and made it very well. reasonable prices (£30/head including beers and 2 bottles of wine),only slight negative was the lamb chops were a bit un inspired but I am just nit picking there.

“Unadventurous and fullfilled”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We came here in a group of four on a Saturday night in October 2012. A friendly welcome and we were seated in the front of the restaurant, near the door. I'm not an adventurous eater so was hoping to see my favourite Indian dishes on the menu and I wasn't disappointed - I'd class this as more of an Indian restaurant than a Nepalese.

The food was served quickly and the quality across the group was really high. All four diners enjoyed the food, the bill was what we expected (neither cheap, nor too expensive) and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

“Incredibly tasty food and excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

I've been to this restaurant a number of times. I keep trying other curry houses, but have never found anywhere to compare to the Gurkha Grill. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly due to the attentive and caring staff and the service is efficient. The food is like no other restaurant I have tried. The flavours are intense yet natural and aromatic. The meat is always lovely and tender. Everything seems homemade yet highly professional. The king prawns are particularly delicious as is the sagg. The onions that come with the poppadoms are amazing, served with coriander, cucumber and tomato. There are no chemicals and fake colourings in any of the food. The portions are a good size without being too overwhelming and the prices are very fair. I will keep going back to the Gurkha Grill.
