“A pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

I was worried when I read some of the reviews on here but thankfully it was not that bad!!!
I found reception staff to be friendly and helpful. Staying on a weekend there are a lot of groups but there are clear signs throughout the building advising problem guests will be asked to leave and no refunds would be given. Heard the odd doors slamming throughout the night and some drunk lads trying to sing outside but nothing to bad. We stayed in a 1 bed apartment and yes it was small but big enough for two of us for just a night. It was looking a bit tired in places but overall it was clean and nicely decorated. If you are using the hotel parking then make sure you park in a designated bay. Overall I was very satisfied with the aparthotel :)

Thank you for taking the time to post a positive review, we do appreciate these and are glad to hear other reviews did not prevent you experiencing Blue Rainbow ApartHotels for yourself. I am glad to hear the positive reviews regarding the staff, remember they are on-site 24hrs a day and will help with the noisy neighbours should you return.

I stayed at the ApartHotel for one night at the end of October. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation! Very clean and although I wasn't using the kitchen it seemed very well equipped. The bed was comfy and the shower was great. The staff were also friendly and welcoming. All in all I cannot find anything to fault!

Stayed 2 nights. Good value, but only because of an offer. Hob stopped working half way through cooking breakfast probably as it is on the same circuit as the oven, and the apartment was showing signs of abuse with missing items and a few things broken.....which have to be reported on 1st entry to the apartment. Also Sleepless 2nd night because of inconsiderate corridor neighbours, and this was a Monday night. 2 hours of residents walking back and forth and talking at 4am triggering lighting outside the bedroom causing a beacon-like effect inside. The lack of blackout curtains seems strange. In truth I should have contacted reception at the time. When asked the next morning if everything was OK, my wife told the truth. I said we wouldn't stay again, but in reality I would as it allowed our daughter who lives in Manchester to stay with us....for a reasonable price. But come on Rainbow, you can do better, your standard has dropped over the last 2 years.

Make sure taxi drivers know where this place is. We had alarming and expensive drive around city at 1.30 a.m in black cab trying to return from event at Hilton. Finally ended up at grim blue rainbow flats in central shopping area despite giving full address of Blue Rainbow Aparthotel and knowing Manchester pretty well. Area is warren of old warehouses and derelict plots within 5 minute walk of Hilton hotel. Helpful pedestrian when we walked there to check in, said "dodgy looking street, but you will be safe ." Proper signage at front would help everyone, but assume this is low key for a reason. Apartment clean with big windows overlooking derelict building site and the Hilton in distance. Central atrium gives effect of prison cell block and filthy brown hall carpets. Bathroom had chipped bath, broken tap on sink and shower soaked floor. Good lounge diner. Felt like a flat that no one could sell. Fire regs? Staff very pleasant ,but some dodgy customers at 1.30 a.m at reception annoyed because not allowed to party. Glad to leave.

Room Tip: Floor 7 has view of skyline and light kitchen diner

Dear Vanessa M,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay.

It is unfortunate that your taxi driver could not locate our apartments from the Hilton on Deansgate, which is a five minute walk away or three minute car journey. Our Manchester Central ApartHotel has been open for 5 years and is very well known by the majority of taxi firms within the city centre. With a M15 postcode the location is in a prime location within the city centre a stones throw away from Deansgate Locks, Manchester Central and Deansgate. Our vibrant pink signage and two flower pots beside the entrance doors should provide adequate signage of our location.

Regarding the atrium, I do not believe prisons have Japanese gardens as a centre piece.

We do have a strict no extra guest policy after hours to ensure as little noise disruption within the atrium as possible the benefit of our guests who deserve a good nights sleep.

I would be interested in discussing the apartment you resided in last night with reference to the below standard bathroom if you would like to contact ourselves with this information it would be greatly appreciated.

Me and my partner stayed there for one night to watch the football. Upon arrival we were given directions to there underground car park, which were first of all wrong, which was a great start. We then finally got to check in, we was then told to pay a £100 deposit, which was not stated at any point in booking, luckily we had a spare £100 to put down. After getting to the room it was fine and well equipped. Now time for bed, the bed was unbearably loud, any movement would result in a huge noise, so I didn't sleep, also during the night the was a mysterious noise every 10-15 minutes or so. Anyway after the 'wonderful' nights non-sleep, time for check out. We mentioned the bed, which we got attitude for saying it was fine the day before, almost telling us we're lying, with a £100 deposit on the line I'm hoping we don't get charged for an already broken bed. They then told us due to a problem with OUR card payment for the room was yet to be taken after a short debate we agreed to pay. After looking online it turns out we had already paid and have now payed twice!! After a quick phone call it WAS sorted but now have to wait 3 days for a refund, as well as the £100, so currently down £190. Would highly NOT reccomend

I booked an executive apt having stayed in BR in Edinburgh - which was excellent.
However, Manchester central is not excellent.
Good points:
It is quiet - as described.
Front of house staff were helpful, and friendly.
Great access to station, metro and city centre attractions.
Well - equipped kitchen. Dishwasher and washing machine tabs and washing up liquid provided.
Large TV, and entertainment package at a cost of £15 for 24 hours.
Adequate furniture.
Free Wi-Fi in exec rooms altho not in standard.
Soft, large bath sheets.

But:
the apartment was far too hot, the 'extractor' provided generated even more heat.
The bath screen did not seal so the bathroom floor was like a paddling pool after taking a shower. This has clearly happened before as the woodwork surrounding the door was swollen due to water damage.
There was no button to switch on the shower - it had been removed leaving a sharp screw on the tap. No extractor fan so very damp and full of condensation, and the screen seal full of mould and mildew.
View from the lounge large bay window - see photo.
No dressing gowns, although stated would be waiting on the bed. Had to ask for them
Only 1 pillow - no spares.
In a 5 star luxury apartment I would really hope for a king size bed - a standard double - although this was clear from the information - is hardly luxurious. Having said that, the room was very small. The mattress squeaked loudly whenever we moved.
Fridge and freezer in desperate need of defrosting.
A single lift to service the whole building (including cleaners) meant having to negotiate stairs with heavy luggage at busy times.

Room Tip: be prepared to look upwards - the view on the ground is awful.

Good spacious apartments, brilliant location, well kept and clean also. The only downsides that i could pinpoint would be the noisy neighbors next door, who seemed to be there on a long term stay, and the lengthy queue in the morning to check out. Other than that, everything else was lovely. We enjoyed a nice night out in Manchester city center and returned to the hotel to unwind for the rest of the night. The cooking facilities were brilliant, and the bathroom was of a good standard. You would never know it was there, tucked away in a nice quiet street of Manchester, but with easy access to trains, trams and within walking distance of all Manchester's attractions.
