Booked a room for my wife's birthday having stayed there a few years back. Nowhere near as nice. Carpets throughout communal areas are stained, and bedroom carpets are disgusting. Freezer in living room couldn't be closed due to lack of defrosting. Was once 5 star, now sneaks 3. Won't be going back unless they refurb

I cannot believe that anyone could legitimately complain about these apartments. Everything was perfect. The check-in was easy and so was the check-out. The staff were friendly and the accommodation was perfect. I am very picky about standards and love my luxury. These apartments are superb. I wouldn't hesitate to re-visit and recommend.

Room Tip: Our room was on the eighth floor facing the back - it was perfect. They provide you with a breakfast...

Stayed at this Hotel last week and i had nothing but touble.
First of all to check in you need the Debit card you booked with. Not very good if someone had booked you the Hotel as apresent, i had to pay myself.
Then there was our room that overlooked a building site.
The worst thing about this Hotel is the parking i paid £10 to park and ended up with a parking ticket for £100.
I was directed to an area where Blue Rainbow have parking spaces allocated, there are about 50 spaces problem is right in the middle of their spaces are two spaces not belonging to them.
I managed to park in one of them. You could say this is mine fault and i hould read the signs correctly. I would agrea with you but the Hotel have cameras on the space and new i had parked incorrectly and didn't tell me.

We have stayed here several times before but this will be my last at the central apartments.

Firstly We had a problem with our booking on arrival.

Our room- compared to previous stays the rooms are looking tired and the kitchen appliances unclean. Think a refurb is needed.

The bedroom was ridiculously hot and no heating was on in the apartment. I had no sleep even after proping doors open etc! pillows were the lumpiest and to top it off a light continuously flashed on/off right outside our bedroom. Worst nights sleep ever.

Our room must have been next to a residents flat and our balcony joined into theirs which looked like a junkyard!

I love the locations of these apartments and have stayed at least 8 times but I feel so disappointed with this last stay I would no longer recommend!

My reason for staying at the blue rainbow apartments was for a girlie getaway with old university friends. Having read some of the reviews before we arrived we were not really sure what to expect and we were a little unsure if we had picked well. We were far from disappointed though. On arrival we were checked in by Vicky who knew how to offer first class customer service. She telephoned us once we had checked in to the room to check we were happy and everything was in order which was a nice touch, and on our departure even though she was leaving herself she still took the effort to enquire about how our meal and evening had faired the night before. The apartment and rooms were spacious and the beds extremely comfy. We heard no noise from any other guests as has been commented on by previous guest reviews. It was a perfect central location. Only negatives were that the rooms were a little warm and the breakfast for 4 people really needed to include more milk for cereal and some bread to make toast would have been a welcome inclusion. Overall though these apartments are lovely and I would highly recommend them to others.

As a regular guest at Blue Rainbow I have to say having stayed last night in room 1/001 the apartment itself was just as good as the premium or execs but boy was the bed uncomfortable. The springs were visible through the sheet and dug in your flesh all night I decided to drag my quilt and sleep on the sofa. I hope the manager takes note as it spoilt an otherwise enjoyable stay in what is an excellent apart/hotel.

After staying at the Staybridge Suites in Newcastle - a similar concept to this - I was very disappointed. The access to the place feels like some seedy brothel. There is only one chap on reception so registering is a long, slow process at busy times.

Whilst the design concept of the interior atrium and open plan view of all floors is aesthetically pleasing, from a noise point of view, it's terrible. What's more, the architects have located all the bedrooms so they are nearest to this atrium which means you hear every cackling hen party as they got out and come back in. Banging doors, clanking of lifts and echoing yahoos of partying posses made for a disturbed night's sleep.

The apartment itself was fine. Spacious, clean, well equipped and I like the balcony overlooking the river. But it lacks little touches that make the stay special - a charge for use of wi-fi, nowhere to get anything to eat or drink within the building.

As for the gym, it's a scary walk in the basement car park to find a boiler room with a few bits of rather ancient equipment. No air-conditioning (neither did the apartment which made it uncomfortably hot), no water machine and no towels.

One to avoid if you're looking for something more than a cheap pad for a boozy weekend._

Room Tip: If a gym is important, the exercise boiler room doesn't really count.
