“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Stayed here for one night while we were in town for the Robbie concert and it was a very enjoyable stay.We were greeted by a lovely man called Arthur who couldn't have been more helpful,we then got shown to our room by Jennifer who was also very helpful. They told us we could help ourselves to tea, coffee, juice etc all complementary which was a lovely touch. Our rooms were fine for what we needed and I would not hesitate to come back here again.

We stayed at Hendham House for one night while in Manchester to see Robbie Williams.
I was filled with dread after reading the reviews from other guests.
It's nowhere near as bad as some people have claimed it to be.
We arrived around 4pm for a friendly (if slightly unorganised) check in.
As previously mentioned Arthur is very friendly and works hard to make sure everyone feels welcome.
We were a party of 4 and had booked 2 double rooms. The rooms are basic and reasonably clean. Tea, coffee, toast and cereal available complimentary 24 hours.
It's not in a brilliant area but not enough to make us feel uncomfortable. Management can't do much about their location!
Shared bathroom on each floor which isn't ideal but it was always clean.
The staff here are friendly and provide a good service. Some of the basics go overlooked but at this price and during a very busy period it can be forgiven!
All in all I would come back again if in the area. Thanks to all the staff for making us so welcome

Me and my friend checked in. Got to our room. Looked at each other. Laughed. And booked straight into a different hotel. We did not feel safe and thought the 'hotel' was just awful- we were in and out of there in less than 30 minutes flat.

Location- Rough, I didn't really want to get out of the taxi...

Reception- Three lads, no uniform- looked like they could have just walked in from the street. Also charged to pay with card... not exactly impressed about that.

Bedroom- Dirty (needed a bloody good scrub!), bedding all worn and mattress was uncomfortable, crumpled up lamp in the corner (why leave it in the room??)- generally just scruffy, dirty and not nice at all!!! Looked nothing like the rooms on the internet.

Bathroom Facilities- Ha! Do you think we would chance using the bathroom- no thanks.

Me and my friend both felt extremely grateful we were in a position were we could afford to book another hotel straight away, get in a taxi and leave!

We stayed overnight for the Muse concert and we couldn't be more happier with the service we received. Arthur was a lovely gentleman showing us to our room and showing us the kitchen and other facilities. The staff and the gentleman who took us to the Etihad stadium and dropped us off in Manchester were so friendly which made our stay more enjoyable. The Rooms and the bathrooms were well maintained. Will definitely stay again

Room Tip: If you choose a room closer to the road keep your window shut as we were awoken by a silly woman sin...
