“Lovely staff, exceptionally clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2011

Staff were so friendly, room was more spacious than I expected and very very clean and nicely furnished. Work in the serviced apartment industry so very conscious of my surroundings when staying in a hotel, especially one so cheap.

We have stayed at premier inns many times before and always been very happy with the hotels. Sadly this hotel was a let down. If you get a room at the front expect alot of noise in the night from passing traffic. Our bathroom wasn't clean hair floating in the bath plug hole soap scum in the bath toilet not clean and the hand rail was hanging off the wall. you just knew it hadn't been cleaned from the people before us. we reported this to staff but noone came to check the complaint out. Upon departure we were told we would get a refund for the room but 10 days later we are still waiting to recieve this. staff were friendly and breakfast was fab just the room was not up to the usual premier standard. I would not choose to stay here again.

We were lucky enough to get a room at the back of the hotel so all we heard were the birds. Very clean room, comfortable bed, fantastic power shower, very friendly, helful staff. The breakfast in the Beefeater next door was also really good, with very friendly staff . Would stay here again. The only disappointment was that we didn't get to pay less for the room that other memebers of our party , when we booked months in advance and they last minute.

Loved staying at this hotel. The location was great. Easy to get into Manchester and motorway links, which were close by. Tram stop down the road or frequent bus service. Opposite a Heaton Park for walker's and anyone who wished to blow away cobwebs. Far enough away from Manchester to get peace and quiet. Staff couldn't have been anymore friendly of helpful. Had a problem with noisy children into early hours in the floor above. Complained to staff who spoke to the family several times and managed to get us some peace, despite the familes lack of interest in controlling their children or concern for other residents. Room and hotel spotless and comfortable. Food in the Beefeater next door, very good and the staff very friendly and helpful . Will stay here again.

I stayed here with my wife and parents in-law as we were going to see a show in Manchester. It is a really convenient location from the motorway. The person on the front desk was really firendly and helpful and gave us really good advice for getting into the city and finding somewhere to eat. There is a metro stop about 5 mminute walk away and for £2.20 you can get a return to the city centre and it is only 4 stops so only took about 15 minutes if that!

The hotel itself is everything you would expect from a Premier Inn, comfortable, clean and good value for money. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful.

If staying here again I would request a room on the back of the building as there is a busy road at the front so there was a bit of traffic noise, but this isn't the hotel's fault at all. The windows were double glazed and it was our choice to have the windows open!

This hotel, is OK, but doesn't quite come up to the usual Premier Inn standards.

Room comfortable enough, staff friendly enough, breakfast, in pub next door good enough, but it lacked something, probably due to Manchester's lunatic drivers tearing around the roads in the early hours every morning, don't they have anything better to do around there? No doubt paid for by benefits and theft!

So it is probably the area that is not so nice rather than the hotel, if you do stay here ask for a room at the back of the hotel and you won't need to listen to the thick boys in their stolen toys.

  • Disliked — Noisy jerks in cars

Had a three night stay there. Expectations met really, nice comfey room, basic facilities. Strange smell in the room, like stale cigs, gone after the first night after I left windows open. Room was cold and the thermostat seemed to have no effect. No Radio 4 on the Hotel Television. Bed was huge comfortable and clean and the back room I had quiet. The most bizzare thing about the place that there was actually graffiti in the room (behind the bed) I will upload a photo later - how does that happen ?

Reception was unstaffed for long periods, with no secure access to the bedrooms, this was a bit concerning and needs to be addressed.

Ate in the adjoining Beefeater - excellent friendly staff made up for minor failings. Second morning it was still shut at 7.30am. The chef was late and the other staff couldn;t find the keys ! But the friendly service (genuine) made up for it....

  • Liked — Comfort
  • Disliked — OTT in the corporate colours area ! (oh and the graffiti)
