“Ok, and better than some mainline budget hotels.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

I stayed here for over a month, and for the price I have no complaints, the only thing I would say is when you book try to ensure you dont go for a standard cheaper room. These are above the night club which does not shut its music down until 3 in the morning. The smell in the corridors is floor polish as the corridors are marble type stone and consideribg are dust free. All the staff speak English, unlike in some hotels where you get a better conversation with the lifts. Breakfast is a fiver, and isnt bad, if you want a change there is a Wetherspoons 200yds up the road that does great breakfasts and evening meals. The decor is outdated, but which budget hotel isnt, its a lean market, and surviving is the main aim. If noise is an issue, when you book ask for a room on top floor towards the rear of hotel. Certainly do not accept a room facing the rear parking / loading area to the hotel on the first or second floor. All in all, a good hotel for work purposes and for a one night stop over for a single room but there is better for same price in the double room market though.

stayed here for two nights whilst down to see the Stone Roses, and the Landsdowne served our needs perfectly. the only major downsides were that the "full english" breakfast was a bit small and the temperature of the water in the shower could be a bit unreliable. Overall though, perfectly suited our needs.

Don't stay here. This place doesn't even rate against backpacker hostels for students. Room bad, bathrooms worse, bar not enough for anything. if you have to stayin Manchester, sleep in your bag rather than here, you'll save money and be more comfortable. It's cheap for a reason.......it's not worth spending money on

Stayed there luckily only for one night due to work. Booked by work for myself and 11 colleagues. Rooms are smelly, damp and straight out of the 60's. Mine had a smell that I can only liken to wet dog lying on a wet floor. The carpet was wet through , the bathroom dirty and covered with old sticky back plastic, the beds tiny and well used. Another of our rooms had water pouring through the window every time it rained. Furniture was shabby didn't match and he whole place had a sordid feel about it. To cap it all it has a nightclub underneath it which plays drum & base till 3am. Stay only if your a student off your head on something and never take your family. The receptionist was ok but there were lots of dodgy looking doorman hanging around at night. It's a dive!

Found the hotel without problems, very welcoming staff. Stayed 3 nights, b and b, breakfast was excellent. Not too expensive either.
