“Great place to stay in central Manchester”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Good spot if your working or visiting Manchester. Deansgate Lock Premier Inn is centrally located and as all Premier Inns is clean, comfortable and well priced. I've stayed in several places in Manchester including the media village and now only bother to stay at Deansgate Lock. You can walk into town in the evening but it's not right in the middle so noise levels are better.

Room Tip: Try not to get the rooms next to the Mancunian Way as it's noisy if you open the windows.

Good with free parking. They now have two thickness of pilows thick or thin which is a good idea. The hotel does say the parking is on a first come first served basis, but we have always got parked.
Five mins walk to town to the bars and shops. Try the Rain bar.

We booked to stay here as we were going to see The Lion King at The Palace Theatre. We chose this hotel as it was close by to the theatre (walking distance about 10 mins passing quite a few bars and restaurants) and it had a free car park onsite. The hotel does say the parking is on a first come first served basis, but there were plenty of spaces available.
On arrival, the outside of the hotel looks like it needs a bit of TLC, it looks a bit tired and run down. As ever we were greeted by very welcoming and friendly staff who were more than happy to have us as customers and ensured we were settled in and had everything we need.
The room was clean and tidy, although the windows again were a little tired and could have done with replacing, there was a draught from them and there was a bit of outside noise from the busy roads nearby. The bed was very comfortable and there were tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was clean and of a premier inn standard (bath and shower).
We had dinner in the attached restaurant and again the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was great for the price and we were served very quickly and felt looked after. We took advantage of the £22 meal deal, which includes a 3 course evening meal with a drink (soft drink, glass of wine or pint) and the premier inn breakfast the next day. This is such an excellent offer and would recommend it!
The free city shuttle bus stops right outside of the hotel, although we didn't use this service, it was a nice feature!
Next day again, greeted by brilliant helpful staff and had an extremely filling breakfast. Our check out was as easy as our check in and we were more than happy with our stay.
Premier inn's are always one of my first choices when staying over for a short trip or on business, they are budget hotels but I have found the staff are always more than happy to go above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible stay!

I tend to avoid budget chains, after having a disastrous stay in a Travel Lodge and thought this could be similar. Decided to stay here on the strength of other Trip Advisor reviews and was pleasantly surprised. Good greeting on arrival and room was clean.

Free WiFi good but limited to 30 mins. Reasonably close to most attractions in the city, and there's a free (green) shuttle bus which stops right outside. Didn't eat here as we preferred to explore other places in the city.

I stayed in this hotel for one night before Christmas to attend an interview in Manchester. Three weeks later, I returned for further three nights and again for five nights. When I checked in the receptionist immediately recognised me, as did a waiter. Anyone who has read my previous reviews will note I comment on the friendliness of the staff. There is no exception here. The restaurant staff are helpful, polite and courteous and the meals are not to bad either. The rooms in this hotel are spacious and clean with a large comfortable bed. The hotel is located on a busy road but do not let that put you off, as it is quiet inside the rooms. It is also located about fifteen minutes walk from the town centre. Before I forget, there is ample car parking. I will be spending some time working in Manchester over the next six months and this hotel will be first on my list.

My boyfriend and I stayed here with another couple on new years eve. We found the hotel easily and there was plenty of spaces to park also. Checked in very quickly and efficiently. The room was just like all others of this chain but very clean and comfortable and quiet! Had something to eat and drink at the bar and the receptionist ordered us a taxi for later. Hotel was near to our plans for the evening do was great. Would definetly stay here again!
