Visiting Manchester for a couple of days and needed somewhere nice to stay whilst being cheap due to the fact that we had a full itinerary planned and wouldn't be spending much time in the hotel.
At £23 per night, booked through their own website, I didn't feel I could go wrong given the previous reviews I had read on here.
Room 514 on the fifth floor was perfectly formed. The room has a toilet, shower and sink although the toilet has its own room and then the shower and sink are directly in the room, which is a little strange; i understand that this is a good use of space however not quite conventional and I remain a little unconvinced, especially as they don't give you a bath mat for the floor.
The bed is firm but perfectly comfortable. Additional pillows are available from reception as you only get 1 each as standard. The TV has Freeview and there is a desk space.
The room was clean, however there was a facewipe under the bed and long black hairs on the floor, which certainly weren't mine, so maybe a closer attention to detail by the cleaning team wouldn't go amiss. Strangely there is also air con in the room, which for saying you don't get a proper en suite, is quite an unexpected addition but I'm sure most welcome in the summer months.
This is a great hotel, well kept, polite and friendly staff and an excellent location - you can walk anywhere in the city from here.
I absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a base for their stay at an excellent price.
