we stopped by at the works last weekend as we were visiting the men arena and found it be very convenient. we were a little reluctant due to various complaints we had read about noise, however after calling the hotel we were advised that the noise was non longer a problem. we took our chances and booked anyway and had a wonderful stay. the aparrtments were really big and spacious and we were oinly 5 mins walk away from the men arena. the only downside was that we were 5 friends and we could only have 2 sets of keys, this wasnt a major problem as they had 24 hour reception over the weekend.

Room Tip: rooms facing the front have a better view

I stayed one night, there was no hot water and nobody answered the out of hours contact number. I called for an hour in the morning without an answer. There's no reception desk out of hours so there's nobody to contact if you need assistance.

We took our grand daughter to Manchester university for an interview. As it was being held at 9am we had to travel the night before and needed to stopover. This seemed a very good deal as we needed 2 rooms. We arrived at 10pm and couldn't find the hotel. We phoned and got the extremely helpful Alex who talked us in. Reception was closed, but Alex had given very full instructions as how to collect our key. As we just really neede 2 beds for the night, it was fine. Bathroom very clean and adequate. Bedding very clean and basic. Downside was badly marked furniture, dirty windows, stained window blinds, marked kitchen surfaces etc. Generally, I believe it's because of the clientele. The hotel is opposite a night club and our opinion is they fall out of there at 4am, very noisily, and use the hotel for " social activities " without consideration for others. That said, 4 people slept well, apart from a slight 4am blip, for £105. As we booked out we were met by very helpful staff who offered late book out if required and wished us a pleasant onward journey.

Made an error and cancelled my booking by accident with the hotel. Rang booking.com and contacted hotel straight away (literally within minutes of the mistake).

Hotel refused to reinstate the booking and charged full £90 cancellation fee, but said I could rebook at an additional £90.

Emailed hotel twice with no response even though receipt to say email had been received and read by hotel was sent back to me.

Disgusted with the lack of customer care and communication

Avoid using this venue !

First of all, I would like to say that the location of this property is excellent.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately I feel that this property falls down by overselling itself with unrealistic promises of a luxury apartment, something that it is certainly not. We travelled with our son to look at Manchester Uni and to try to get a feeling for the city. In this respect it was perfect, a downtown location close to all amenties.
The apartment was far from luxury, it was certainly spacious and bright but very worn.
It would be ideal if you are looking for a party flat for a group of young people after a night out and I suspect that this is probably what it is used for. The carpets were threadbare with evidence of numerous spilages and I was very dubious about walking barefoot in the apartment. The bedlinen tired and well worn (but clean) and the duvets had lost all of their umph. There was also evidence of a recent flood with water damage. Lots of things were broken, (such as the shower screen not fitting correctly over the bath), it was supposed to be a 5 person apt but there were So my feeling really is that they are just over selling what would is a great crash pad but definitely not a luxury apartment.

Room Tip: we were high up and had great views over the city

At first we spent over 30 minutes walking around the area trying to find the right place. It felt like looking for The Leaky Cauldron and being a muggle. We ended up finding a small sign beside a single door, that led up to the building. It was right in front of a well-known shopping centre. The people at the desk weren't the most friendly, and we had to leavea deposit, of which we weren't warned beforehand. There were elevators (a huge plus for 4 girls traveling with hard-case suitcases in a country dominated by victorian houses full of staircases), and the apartment itself was very spacy with two rooms, a small double bed each. Noisy at night, as it was close to a busy street around nightlife and a shopping centre. Great location, however, walking distance from the train station, and a few of the most beautiful and interesting libraries I have ever visited. The washing machine was broken and full of water, but was soon fixed. The nice kitchen allowed us to have a home-cooked dinner. When we left, we had to leave the keys, and despite warning the staff we were leaving early, there was no one at the front-desk to see us away. In the end, would recommend if you could get a silent room.

Room Tip: Try a room higher up or facing away from the street.
