I recently took a job in Manchester and have been experimenting with all the Apartment Hotel's in the city centre. This was the last of the places I have sampled. I paid extra to upgrade to the Premium 2 bed Apartment (to prevent you having to read on, it wasn't worth it!). Check in was pleasant and the reception staff very helpful. The hallways have a nice fresh scent to them and at first glance the apartment looked impressive. However, upon closer inspection the first impressions change. Firstly there was no ironing board, there was a wall plug in the bathroom where the mirror used to be (but no mirror), the living room heater didn't work, the freezer was an absolute mess (pictures uploaded), there was no working light in either the living room nor main bedroom. This wasn't realised until it became dark! I left the apartment after calling the out of hours number (7.15pm). The person taking the call was most helpful and agreed to get new light bulbs in the rooms and send up an ironing board. Upon returning this had been done, although the ironing board was broken and couldn't be used. Anotherl disappointment was when nothing was on TV so I decided to put on a DVD. Unfortunately there was no scart cable from the DVD player to the TV so it couldn't happen. Another small issue was a lack of a tea towel (something which is present at all the other places I've stayed). Final issue was the noise throughout the night, I'm a deep sleeper but was woken up twice. Once by people outside the hotel and the second by the street cleaners who seem to start work at around 5-5.30am. Overall this is by far the worst of the Apartment Hotel's I've stayed at but the staff do seem an asset.
