“Good for a casual Night Out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013 via mobile

I went to TOPS on a Friday Night and I was seated immediately, which was very good. The starters section of the buffet wasn't too good, but the mains were. I really liked the Chinese food and it was good that you could have kebabs cooked right in front of you. The staff were very helpful when taking your plates away, but they were a bit stiff when you asked for something. The atmosphere wasn't to great, it was very loud and crowded. Good for a casual lunch though.

“Nice food and reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013 via mobile

Went to this place on my friends recommendations.. the place was quit packed during dinner and have to wait for sometimes in the queue to get our table. For me the food at this place is awesome. With variety of foods offered includes asian foods too. You can eat all out. It's a buffet so take your chance to fill up your tummy. During our dine in I heard the happy birthday song aired like 10 times. O was like woww so many ppl celebrate birthday on the same day. The staff was rushing all over the place. Even npticed 1 of the staff accidentlt break some utensils. Overall I had fun here because the food taste good.

“Atmosphere as chilly as the food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

After being seated we were left without being offered a drink for ages , then when they did arrive the drinks had to be paid for at the table each time you order, not at the end of the meal. The food was barely warm and not all the advertised food was available. The staff walk up and down the aisles of tables like a school canteen. I had not even finished eating and my plate was removed , this happened twice. It felt rushed and not relaxing at all. The food was ok but really needed to be hotter. Given a choice this would not be a place I would revisit . Too many staff , not enough of a selection and atmosphere as chilly as the food .

“avoid”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

we were staying in Manchester and the weather was very poor so we opted for a meal out near to hotel. we decided on this place and were charged as we entered and then shown our seats. it was busy and the noise levels were very high so not a good atmosphere to dine in.

the food is buffet style with different stations and chefs. this might sound impressive but dont be fooled food was sparse and looked like it had been there all day. lots of empty containers and bits of food on the servery. we managed to pull together a plate of food which was ok ish but we couldnt wait to get out of the place. dirty food areas and very noisy never again for me

“Overrated - very disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Had heard great things about TOPS so thought we would try it out ourselves...good selection of food and a very fair price for lunch (thought the dinner price was expensive) but it was the overall dining experience which completely let the restaurant down. The tables were so crammed in together there was no sense of privacy at all - we were seated next to a group of around 20 children (with no adults present) who were eating desserts for the entire 90 minutes we were in there (90 minutes is the advertising time limit) and were extremely noisy, had their own food and were causing a general nuisance to us and the other neighbouring tables. Unfortunately we had to report our concerns to 4 different members of staff before anybody actually approached the table to speak to the children. There was a break down in communication for sure. Also with the music being far too loud I found that I spent so much time thinking about all of the things that were making the experience poor, I couldn't focus on enjoying the food.
