We’d read a tonne of reviews about this place so knew what we were getting ourselves in for. I called up beforehand to ask about the bedbugs – the lady told me there were bed bugs but they’ve fumigated and haven’t had reports since.

There were big stains all down the walls, the room was really dim lit by only one small bulb, the beds were lumpy and were actually on planks of wood. It seemed clean but I slept inside my sleeping bag still, I brought it with me after reading reviews saying it was not cleaned between guests! The bathroom… I didn’t even touch the shower curtain, it was black and thick with mould. And the hallway outside our room was covered in huge stains and the bottom of the doors were black with mould too!

Three of us shared a room for £50 so it was the cheapest we found in Manchester at £16.50 each, but still overpriced for such a [--].

Manchester city centre for £12.50 - cant be bad. Four of us shared a room for £50, beds were not the most comfy but seemed clean. Location is absolutely central to everything and as we were there for a night out, perfect. Can't say I noticed any noise when we returned maybe 3 ish but we'd had a drink or 2 ourselves ... Thankfully straight into bed and out like a light !
BUT
Walls damaged with areas of paint missing, fixtures & lights missing and broken. No TV, heater on the wall had nothing inside the casing ! Carpets torn and badly stained (don't like to think what they were stained with ?!), shower curtain filthy & mouldy but a nice hot shower.
Wouldn't go back but it served a purpose for us so no real complaints at that price.

Room Tip: Treat it as a cheap city centre bed for the night

Being above a night club you expect to here the music until the early hours, however being 3 floors above it and still feeling like you're in the club next to a speaker is just ridiculous. If you intend to go to ed any time before 4am dont bother! Its easier to spend money on a hotel than even try and sleep here. Plus the bathroom was moldy, the room was freezing and everywhere smelt like urine.
So over all: smelly, cold and noisy. Remixes of cold play are not what you need at 2am whether you're in a club or not.
Just terrible!!

Music blasts through the room from the nightclub below. Sleep is utterly impossible until around 3am. The people that run this place should be ashamed of themselves. In fact, selling this place as a hotel where one can sleep the night is probably illegal.

Room Tip: Don't stay here. Try the YHA or another near by hotel or hostel.

I would never again stay at this hostel! The cheap £13.00 each per night still does not justify how horrible and disgusting the place is. I have stayed in many hostels and would be happy to return but not this one. There were stains on the carpets in the corridors, the floor in the room was wet and smelt of damp, one of the divan beds were supported by a thin plank of wood, there was a crack in the sink and the bathroom was full of mould, the wardrobe was damp and full of mould and the room had obviously not had a proper clean for weeks. I would not stay in this hostel again if someone paid me. My reccomendation would be to shop around and spend a little more, do not fall for the cheap prices.
