Albert Square is a "must" for locals and visitors alike. It is the central pivot, on which, Manchester rotates. There are little streets leading off in all directions, and so many eating houses round every corner, that you're spoilt for choice. The square comes into it's own at Christmas.... There are the big bright decorations and lights, but the season is captured perfectly by the presence of the Christmas Market. Stalls and stands from many european countries, alongside our own. Hot street food of all types, and tempting "hot toddies" and "mulled wine" which just has to be done. In addition, everyone is tempted to go into the town hall building.....initially to see the jewellery displays and additional stalls, but once inside, you cannot fail to be impressed with the interior of this building. We go to the market every year, often twice if taking friends or visitors. Never ever tire of it......"A Must Do".
