“Defiantly stay again..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

My Partner & I, stayed here over the weekend. We normally stay at the Hilton Deansgate, however we stayed here only last week, so I thought we would try somewhere new.. I was disappointed. Firstly I would say that going forward this would be my first choice instead of the Hilton. We stayed on the 10th floor, the room was very big and so modern. The bed was massive and one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever stayed in at a Hotel.
The wet shower / wet room was lovely so modern, the separate sink area was a nice touch. Big TV, Kettle, ironing board, Mini bar, robes, everything you need. Obviously the views aren’t as good as the Hilton, but who spends there stay looking out of the window anyway!! The room was much nicer.. The receptionist gave us a ticket to go have a free drink each before we started our evening, which was such a nice touch. We never had breakfast so I cannot comment. Already looking at when to book again.. My new favourite!!

Room Tip: We stayed in 1024 and it was perfect!!

Staff are friendly and helpful - especially the concierge. Rooms are modern and comfortable. Great location. Dinner in Alto was delicious, I had steamed lobster, the other half had steak, all for £30.
Only Downside, £5.45 for a large bottle of semi sparkling water, £2.75 for a glass of soda water. Would highly recommend this hotel

Booked ourselves into the Radisson Blu Edwardian for a wee treat this weekend and (mostly) enjoyed the experience a lot. We arrived early and were delighted to discover that we could check there and then, which was a fantastic start to our weekend as it gave us a chance to freshen up and dump our bags before heading back out. The room itself was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Customer service was impeccable from every member of staff we encountered. We had been planning on using the spa, but sadly didn't get around to it this time.

My one, fairly large, niggle is the design of the bathroom area. While I can understand the design ethic behind it and also the practicality of having the sink area separate to the toilet/shower/bath area, the fact that there is no door between the bedroom and the former and only a very flimsy, translucent door between the bedroom and the latter means that sound carries somewhat more than ideal. Listening to each other using the facilities does not for a very romantic stay make!

Thank you for your compliments on our customer service. I was disappointed to read that the design of our bathrooms is not to your taste.

What made our stay so great was the fantastic team who work or manage this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, and we will definitely change from our usual hotel to here, if of course the cost is competative.

Only real negatives is shower has no real pressure. Breakfast gets very congested around the buffet, this could be spread out a bit more and there is no opening window in the bedroom for fresh air.

Would still give it 10/10 for service and 9/10 for facilities/design & comfort

third time i have stayed here and this was the best experience. Arrived at 11.30am and was allowed to check in and have our room. Fabulous views of Manchester from the 10th floor - amazing room with robes, slippers and chocolate brownie pieces (nice touch but we did upgrade to a delux room) AND free wi-fi (after staying at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham earlier this year and had to pay for Wi-fi). Upon check-in was given a £15 drinks voucher to spend in either bar then when we got to our room there was another one so we used them both and there was no issue! Used the spa which was great and the Opus One bar was a lovely end to a rather wild night in The Birdcage! Didnt have breakfast as this was rather pricey and we wanted a sleep in (beds v comfortable and location made it easy to access other places to eat! Definately coming back here! For me this is the only place to stay in Manchester if you want something a bit more then 'travelodge' experience!

Room Tip: Ask for one high up for a great view and book delux if you want the extra touches!

Stayed for one night at this hotel with my partner.

The rooms are very comfy, quiet and modern. We paid £35 for an upgrade and had a great bathroom with a 'rain' shower and separate sink and dressing area. Very nice!

The hotel is in a great location. Its only a 10 minute walk from the very centre of Manchester with all its shops and bars. The hotel bar itself is pricey but very classy with a good chilled and aspirational atmosphere. The bar staff were friendly and attentive.

I used the spa facilities on the morning of my stay and found them clean and modern - and bigger than I expected. They were a little busy but not over crowded and the free towels, robes and slippers were a nice touch.

We only had one slight problem and that was that there was no hot water on the morning of our check out. We were told there was a boiler problem but we were also told there would be no rush to check out and they would even keep breakfast open for us a little longer if the lack of hot water was a problem. It was fixed in 20 minutes. Very impressive!

All in all a great stay!

We only stayed for one night and got a very reasonable price. Our room was fantastic - fabulous views, incredibly comfortable bed, air con (I'm not normally a fan, but in the temperatures it was fantastic!), lovely bathroom and everything we needed. The staff were excellent, some of the best service we have received. The concierge sorted out our present wrapping issues and the check-in staff were very friendly. I really do think it is a fantastic hotel with a very high standard of cleanliness and service, I was just a bit surprised by the TV. We didn't go there to watch TV so it wasn't much of a problem, but it appeared to us (and I would be happy to give 5/5 if this was proven to be incorrect) that you had to pay extra for using the TV or radio! Not just watching films, for the standard TV and radio channels... The cost for mini-bar items was also rather amusing - I know they are supposed to be more expensive, but they did make us chuckle as it would be cheaper to get a taxi driver to buy the items, bring them to the hotel and send it up to the room!
Anyway, extra money aside, it is a fantastic hotel with fantastic staff so I would happily go again.

Thank you for taking the time to write this detailed review and for all your feedback. I would like to clarify that we do not charge for use of TV or radio, so was rather concerned by your comments but hope to welcome you back soon.
