I sampled the five course tasting menu for £25 on Tuesday night. Albeit a great menu, quality well cooked food packed with flavour, I can't help but feeling I was a little short changed.
Portion sizes are just far too small for a five course tasting menu, they would have been perfect for a seven or ten course tasting menu. I left still feeling hungry, and I'm not a big eater.
If courses are the same size on the main menu as the tasting course, this restaurant is very overpriced.
The fois gras lentil starter is to die for, packed with flavour it was by far the best choice on the menu. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, but the dark and milk chocolate sphere with pear was amazing.
Wine menu is hit and miss with a choice of bottles at either £20 or £40.... variety is the spice of life... maybe a few in between would have been nice.
Despite the great food, I don't think I'll be returning in a hurry, maybe if they do a bigger tasting course? However it's good to see someone is cracking into the fine dining market in Manchester - about time.
