Nov 11, 2008 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Arrived Friday night. There were 2 people behind the reception one of which was dealing with some instructions to a group and the other was not doing anything at all to register me and my friends so had to wait for around 10 min before they dealt with us.
I had a 1 bedroom apartmennt which was spacious, with a nice looking bathroom although the furniture and decoration was roughly ARGOS around 97 and in need of some updating and it all looked a bit barren. Great view of a parking garage though.Next up shower had no water pressure which was not remedied throughout the weekend I stayed there. The bed was alright at least.
The computer with online access in the lobby was out of order as well. When I inquired about the late checkout for 15 GBP that they offered it was completely refused and they did not even try to accommodate my request a bit. Also room was not made up once during the weekend in spite of me being out all afternoon.
All in all an ok place to stay but service is mostly abysmal and some stuff could do with a smile now and again.

I stayed there one night with my grilfriend and we had a lovely time. I booked about a week in advance and when I arrived they told us we had a free upgrade!
The appartment was very impressive and you get so much more for your money then if you just book a normal hotel room (where you just get a bed and T.V). If was a perfect base to go out and explore Manchester.
The only downside was the bedroom did get quite stuffy and hot during the night which kept us up but if you prop open the door (or simply open the window in advance!) you should be fine.
If you're looking for a good base for exploring Manchester I reccommend the Atrium.

Fantastic location (easy walking distance to Piccadilly and Oxford Rd stations, China Town, Canal Street, all the shops, bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean, tidy and had everything and more. I have stayed in a few places in Manchester and Bolton but this has been by far the best so far! 100% reccommended!

Aug 1, 2008 | Trip type: Family

Just come back from a Monday to Friday stay with my 19 year old daughter who was on a Toni and Guy hairdressing course. I cannot fault the apartments. They were so clean and housekeepers came every day, nothing was too much trouble. Have to say that Paul the receptionist is a star, so helpful and so welcoming - thank you if you read this report. I loved Manchester itself, with its vibrant life and plenty of wonderful shopping, but to stay in some where that you feel safe and is so clean is a must for me. I have never stopped in apartments before, always hotels, but this has changed my mind now and would highly recommend these to anyone. My niece actually recommended them to me and I am so glad that I took her opinion.

We had a one bedded apartment. It was twin beds and had plenty of room. Even a TV in the bedroom. Lovely living/dinner /kitchen room with all the equipment you need, it was great to be able to cook when we felt too tierd to go out. We had a room on the road side and yes it is noisy, but the double glazing is great, although we stopped when it was the red hot week of weather, so had to have the windows open.

All in all a great place to stay. One last thing, if you like chinese food, visit the Oriental Buffet place below the apartments - eat as much as you can buffet, very good.

  • Disliked — Traffic noise - but don't let htis put you off

I REALLY wish I could give the Atrium a glowing review, but there was one serious issue: no ventilation. I stayed for five nights in July, so I don't think this would be a problem in the cooler months when heat is desirable, but in warmer seasons, it can be uncomfortable.

I loved my little apt in Central House overlooking the canal and Canal Street. The problem here was that I needed the windows open in order to get some air flow, and at night Canal Street does not wind down until 4am, so I had to close the windows. I requested an additional fan, and even then I slept without cover.

I left Manchester for a couple days, and when I returned to Atrium I asked for a quieter apt, hoping that I could then leave the windows open. I got an apt overlooking the atrium. This apt only had one window that barely opened, and since it was quieter I was able to leave it open, but still I slept with no cover.

Atrium is in a great location, situated between the Gay Village and The Cornerhouse Art Theatre Complex, and is walking distance to absolutely everything in Manchester. I would definitely stay there again, but not in summer.
