“A fine independent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Found this establishment via tripadvisor at short notice, so pleased we did, went early evening on and was busy but very relaxed, food was exceptional and very well priced, service was good and i left a tip.....this in itself speaks volumes (i am not tight ;-) , but will tip as and when it deserves it) Jack Spratts is an independent and if only there were more like this everywhere, thank you for ending our much needed short break on a high.

“Lucky find”

Could have easily missed this place as so as we knew we were passing the place we had practically already missed it.
Steak was tender and the staff were very friendly.

Loved the decor too.

“Didn't disappoint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

It was just what the reviews said.....really good food and great value with their current offer. But it is popular so allow time to enjoy the experience...we went at 5-30 to leave at 7 and we'd have been better allowing two hours for three courses. Don't be put off by the restaurant photo of wooden upright chairs....they are comfortable! The best surpirse was that there was live music from around 6pm on a Thursday evening where I'd thought that this only started later in the evening.

“Top Nosh”

The duck here is delicious, smoky and succulent. The blackened steak was nice and juicy. Service was attentive and we quaffed some delicious cocktails.

“A new star in Manchester's restaurant crown.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

Well have just left an amazingly good restaurant! Absolutely buzzing. The right size & style of menu that I love. Quality not quantity, but also could have picked most things on the menu. Had big fat juicy mussels whilst Mr had some smokey smoked duck for starters. Bring on the meaty mains, which introduced me to a new taste of the 'oyster' steak. The butchers best kept secret - but not for much longer!!!

Yes it was busy and some people might have complained about the wait, but not me. Having a fabulous meal requires a little bit of time. And the people who were working there shone! There seemed to be a genuine love for the place.

Going back - absolutely 100% yes. And apparently they have live music on Thursdays, including blues, folk, jazz, funk, R&b and soul.

What's not to like. Plus you can read old entertainment, celebrity type magazine clippings on the toilet doors!!!
