This was our second visit to this particular Travelodge. We had tried to book several other hotels before realising it was a holiday weekend and also a lot happening in Manchester that particular weekend! It was also one of the cheapest prices we could find. I booked a double room (forgetting to tick that we wanted the extra bed made up) but my Sister and myself weren't too bothered because this was listed as a "king-size" bed. It was nothing of the kind. It was a bog standard double bed. The shower room was particularly small and all in all we were very disappointed by this room. We were also disappointed with the attitude of the very surly receptionist who booked us in. I had paid for an early check in at 12 noon and we arrived shortly after 11.30, quite happy to wait, but his first words were "we've not got any rooms". I explained we had a booked and he repeated his words. Bit confused but reiterated I had a reservation. He then told us we could wait in the bar area which we were happy to do. We got into the room shortly after noon. We definitely won't be staying at this hotel again, even if we were going to the Arena which is just close by.

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the front of the hotel. Although it's on the main road it's a lot quie...

Stayed here this weekend, as a base near to town. The location was great just a ten minute walk into the city centre. The room was nice, a little small but clean and overall a good standard for travelodge. Check in was quick, we were in the 6th floor there was no noise even from the lifts which we were right next to. We paid extra for breakfast and it was very nice, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, toast, croissants, cereal, juice, yogurts and fruit. We used the car park next door which was very full but handy enough and cheaper than parking any where else in the city centre.

We stayed in a family room for three nights. The room was more than big enough even with both single pull out beds for the children. Main bed was very comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless. Bathroom appeared to be a modular setup so no dirty grout to be seen. Towels were changed each day when the beds were made up. Could do with an extra table/bench to put your bags on, but that will be being picky. Breakfast was more than sufficient; scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, grilled toms and beans, kelloggs cereals, muffins and croissants. The hotel was full but the staff were great - very helpful and friendly. We didnt eat there in the evenings with there being so much to choose from in the city. Parking is by the hotel but is privately run and costs £10 for each 24hr period - from thurs pm to sun pm we paid £33. It is steep but it is lighted and has cctv and guards on duty. The hotel is just across the road from the phones 4u arena so great if you are going to a concert etc and its a 5 min stroll to The Printworks and Arndale. All in all a great, reasonably priced bolthole for a city break.

Great location, spotlessly clean, book early for the cheaper rates, then excellent value for money. Fair bit of road noise late into the night and early morning, but we did sleep with the window open, i would definitely stay again next time

Website says there is a car park, there isn't. Was told to park alongside the hotel where on a night there is a drug deal going on. Rooms were unclean and the shower overflowed, couldn't wait to leave.

Stayed at this hotel numerous times, it's location is 5 minute walk to the shopping centres/bars etc. Great bar and place to relax/pre drinks before heading out. If you book an advance deal on the website, the rooms are excellent value. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here for one night with my husband as we were attending a show at the phones for you arena. The location is excellent! The arena was a 2 min walk and just another minute there is a shopping centre along with plenty restaurants & bars.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. Only one person at desk so check in took a while as there were a few people checking in.
The rooms are of an ok size, very standard but just what you would expect for a traveloge. The bed was comfy and we heard no noise from outside.
We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.
Car park right next door cost us £10 for 24hr parking.
Overall a comfortable stay and clean hotel in great location.
