I live in Manchester and visit Richmond tea rooms regularly as its one of my favourite places to visit, however on this recent visit (Wed 12th Feb, 3:30pm) I was so shocked in the change that I felt compelled to review this visit in particular
I was meeting friends for a colleagues baby shower late afternoon and we were greeted by the most miserable waitress, who did not smile throughout our whole visit and was rather blunt with us on each interaction. We were seated quickly and literally pounced on moments later to order our food. We asked for more time much to the dislike of the waitress.
I have no complaints what so ever about the food, we order salads and croque monsieur all delicious, with scones and cakes from the counter for afterwards. My friend particularly loved the oreo cake!!
Part way through our meal, music came on from the speakers which was incredibly loud. We couldnt hear each others conversations and had to ask the staff to turn it down, which they did.
On our visit the tea rooms was not particulary busy, but we waited a considerable amount of time for the bill and then for someone to take our payment
I was sadly disappointed on this particular visit as I normally have no complaints at all. I feel that the managment need to review thier staff.
I would still recommend this place to others as I feel it is original and quirky with excellent food and cocktails. On all my other visits the staff have been brilliant too!!!
