I booked this hotel as I was going to a concert at the arena. It had free parking and was only 30 minutes walk from the arena. Which was handy coming out of a concert with the crowds and traffic. I didn't want to have to rely on transport or driving.
When we arrived at the hotel I was surprised to see that the car park was actually gated and controlled from the reception. Made me feel better about leaving my car in a city I have never visited. When we unloaded the car and went to check in the receptionist didn't smile, just asked for our name and gave us a key and code to the car park. We really didn't feel very welcome at all. When we got to our room we found there was no towels. So I walked back to the reception to ask for towels and an iron and ironing board. I was made to feel I was a lier about having no towels and that asking for an iron and ironing board I was putting her out. She then brought the ironing board to my room, which I said thank you for and there was not a word from her. Just a sour look.
When we made it back from the concert we arrived to a very unpleasant barman. chewing gum and an attitude problem. When we ask for a drink and some food he didn't even give us any eye contact.
We were always made to feel like a problem apart from one gentleman that gave us directions to the arena.
The hotel was clean and good parking facilities. And for £24 you can't really complain. Just don't expect to be made to feel welcome or any sort of customer service.
