“Would stay here again - great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

We stayed here last weekend, very clean room and nice to have a big shower instead of a bath! Bar manager was lovely and dropped passes up to a niteclub to our room which I thought was sound.
Location of this hotel is brilliant, less than 5 mins to Arndale shopping centre. If staying at this hotel I would recommend trying Luck Lust Liquor and Burn for food and drinks, amazing! Also Sweet Mandarin Chinese beside the hotel was excellent

This has to be one of the most spotless hotels I've ever stayed in. Absolutely immaculate, it's like somebody had just taken it out of the wrapper. The service was amazing, polite, helpful. Couldn't fault anything. Only thing, ignore the post code. Sat nav sent me on wrong road.

We stayed here on a Saturday night and chose it for the good price, easy location and great reviews. We were not disappointed.
We had a twin room and the it was on the small size but adequate for our needs. It was very clean, the beds were comfy and the bathroom had a great shower.
The breakfast was ok. A small selection of fry food and pastries. The coffee, however, was disgusting!!!!!!! But the breakfast was in the price so fulfilled our needs.
It is based in the Northern Quarter which has great bars and restaurants and it is a fantastic night out for all ages!!

We booked to stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Goadsby Street in Manchester for a concert at Manchester Academy after very good reviews of the hotel on Trip Advisor. We have also had bad experiences of staying in budget hotels in the Northern Quarter so decided to pay a little more on this occasion.

For the overall cost (which also includes a breakfast buffet the following morning), we got a very spacious double room which was clean and nicely set out. The room included a large bed for two people (it felt bigger than a double but smaller than a king-size), a sofa bed, a large desk and a flat screen television, as well as the usual amenities like a kettle, hair dryer etc. The bathroom was very modern with a spacious and powerful shower. We took advantage of the discounted car parking rates (£4.50 for 24 hours in the Euro Car Park across the road - I would recommend this; we found it very handy as car parking can be very expensive in the Northern Quarter).

The service of staff was very good. We found the bed comfortable and, despite being on the city side, not noisy at all. Breakfast the next morning was nice although some of the hot food items were a bit cold when we sat down to eat. However there was a good range of choices and we were both very hungry so it certainly wasn't the end of the world.

We would stay here again as the hotel is conveniently placed (about 10 minutes by foot to Piccadilly Gardens). Overall, you get more than you pay for.

Located just off the inner ring road, within the 'Northern Quarter', close to the old victorian markets and in an area now just beginning to undergo a rennaissance, with refurbishment of the old industrial buildings into modern apartments mixed with new developments such as this hotel and the sister 'Crowne Plaza' adjoining. The area has an interesting mix of eclectic bars and restaurants catering for students, young professionals etc. The hotel is close by Victoria Station and the MEN Arena is 5 minutes or so on foot. The back of the Arndale Centre is 5 minutes in the opposite direction and beyond that, the city centre. The parking advertised by the hotel was readily available. I just picked up a voucher at reception, It is located 100 metres away on an open, unsecure site across the other side of the ring road and is £4.50 per day to residents, but I would be nervous about leaving a quality car there.
The Hotel is only a year or so old and is modern, minimalist and well designed. The foyer and reception merges to the bar area that in turn merges into the breakfast area. All very light and airy.Twin glass sided lifts with external views climb to the bedroom floors. Our bedroom was a standard 'budget hotel' size or possibly slightly narrower, but extremely well designed and incorporate a comfortable bed with good bed linen, sofa bed and desk unit, with full length external window and had a spacious feel. The bathroom was well laid out and finished with quality fittings. No bath, but a very large shower cubicle with a multi function shower head ...nice.
Good quality dispensed toiletries, tissues, Hair dryer, tea & coffee making facilities & good size TV, free wi-fi, controllable heating, ...pretty much all you need and spotlessly clean.
Breakfast served from early till 10.30am (self service) My only criticism is the quality of the breakfast. Cooked breakfast was sausages scrambled eggs and beans only. No fried eggs or bacon. Cereal choice was also quite limited. However what can you expect at £55 for a double room booked a couple of weeks in advance through a website!!
We would certainly return at that price.

Room Tip: Higher floors, city side have interesting views and may be quieter.

Very clean and modern
Great value as breakfast included in the rate
Take advantage of happy hour in the bar (25% off between 19.00 & 20.00)
Situated in an up and coming part of town
Close to shopping, bars and restaurants
Would definitely use again
