“Never Again”

Visited with 2 friends who I hadn't seen in a number of months and was looking forward to an evening of good company and food.

The concept that you sit around a large table on 3 sides and watch your food being prepared is a good one... However the rather rude waitress insisted we all sat in a line along one side of the table so she could squeeze more people on... After much arguing we got our request to sit round the corner of the table so we could at least have a conversation with each other...

We were served drinks in the waiting area and it is good that we made them last as no one came to ask if we wanted any more throughout the whole meal... In fact once the chef had arrived to cook the main courses we never saw a waitress come anywhere near our table and had to shout half way across the restaurant to get her attention.

The starter of tempura prawns although delicious were extortionately overpriced £9 for 3!!

There was then a rather long wait for a chef to appear at our table. Once he arrived he was seemed to be going through a well rehearsed routine for the diners around the table and didn't really move much off this script.

The food although good quality was not amazing and with a steak costing over £20 we felt a little short changed... I was the only person on the table that requested sticky rice and due to the fact the waitress disappeared for almost the whole meal i waited almost 15 minutes for it to arrive by which point the steak was cold.

The chef had a really annoying habit of just putting anything that anyone in your party had ordered on all the plates without first asking if you wanted it this happened twice and was about to happen a third time when I basically had to tell him to please ask first.

The bill came to over £120 for 3 and we could have got better food and service for half that cost in Tampopo or Wagamamas.

It was Groupon voucher night and the place was busy... The fact we were paying full price had no influence over the service we received compared to other diners.

We ate and left within an hour and what was supposed to be a lovely evening catching up with friends was ruined.

Overpriced and most definitely over rated on this site!!

“Good food, great experience and value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

Have been before but visited again last night on the groupon voucher. This offered great value for money. The food as always was good and the experience of watching it cooked in front of you is great. Would definitely recommend!

“Visit pre Manchester United v Real Madrid game”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

I have been to this restaurant on a few previous occasions, the last visit being in November 2011, so it was some considerable time ago. It has always been an enjoyable experience.

Last night was the exception ..... we went with customers expecting a Japanese dining experience and were bizarely treated to a combination of roast beef, horse radish sauce, roast potatoes, a cold soup which I wont describe what it resembled.

No chop sticks just knife, fork and spoon

Not good

“Excellent food service and fresh coked food in front of you with a jolly chef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Got this of Groupon, didnt know what to expect. there was a very warm welcome and the staff were friendly and had a laugh with you. The seven course meal was of good value and tasty all the way through, we had a laugh trying to use chopsticks and this made the night more fun ( you can request knives and forks if not confident). The high light of the night was the chef he was funny and chatty all the way through and watching the food being cooked in front of you is a great experience and Then served hot and very tasty. Dont have a bad word to say about the restaurant or staff brilliant night all round.
