“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

A good hotel, at the upper end of the budget range, in a good central location. The room was fine - generous size, comfortable and clean, and the service was mostly friendly and efficient. The one exception was dinner on the first night, when the food was disappointing and the service brusque. On the other nights we ate elsewhere. Parking in the nearby NCP is expensive, even with the 15% hotel discount, but that's to be expected in a city centre.

Got a complete bargain on laterooms and stayed over after our Christmas works do. For the very low price the room was superb, clean comfortable full tray of teas coffees etc extra pillows and blankets, decent brand new hair drier, air con and power shower. Couldn't fault it and miles better than hotels of similar budget such as premier Inn. Breakfast (which was included) was excellent the room itself is sizeable but with alcoves if your hung over like we were and just want some peace whilst nursing a sore head! The selection of food was astonishing everything from cereals, continental or fruit to the full monty bacon eggs sausage beans etc all buffet style eat as much or little as you like. Impressed, would definitely stay again and recommend.

lovey hotel very friendly and helpful staff parking is very near the hotel but can be high in price. hotel is close to lots of pubs and restaurants. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortale although the room was very cold when we arrived due to the window been left open and the heating was a bit fiddly but soon warmed through.

Stayed here New Years Eve just for one night, there were 7 of us so had 4 rooms, got them on a great offer for £49 just a couple of weeks before. Read the reviews first as always on TA and sounded good to me, breakfast thrown in as well!!. We go to Manchester alot, my favourite place in UK, have stayed at many of the hotels so think I have a fair opinion. Lobby area is very nice, the desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was nice, surprised really, bed wasn't the comfiest I've slept in but like I said only there for one night, and by the time we got in I would have slept on a washing line!!! Surprisingly we were up early next morning, breakfast was nice, plenty of choice. Bar looked good, modern but didn't get time to partake. Went a walk after breakfast, handy for the Lock 92 area, Granada Studios, bumped into the whole Man City football team on the way back, out for there pre match brunch/walk or whatever!! All in all a good stay but would rather be a a bit nearer the center, quite a walk from Arndale, bars on Deansgate, and not in great area for returning late at night. But yes I probably would stay again at the right price.

Room Tip: Out of the 4 rooms we had no complaints, we were on 5th floor, quiet.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room, and decor throughout the hotel is very pleasant. Staff were very helpful, and the location is good - close to the shops and restaurants on Oxford Road, but just far enough away to be less busy and noisy. Our rate was very reasonable and an excellent breakfast was included in the price. The downside is car parking - you have to park around the corner in the Manchester Central Complex. There is a small discount for hotel guests, but the car park makes a 2.5% surcharge to pay by credit card, so the cost to park overnight was over £16.

Ideal location opposite Manchester Central, just 5 minutes from Albert Square. Speedy check in but did notice long queues at other times however staff were coping well. Room on 1st floor at rear was quiet until 8am when housekeeping prepared themselves adjacent to my room; chatting, door banging, etc. you don't expect to be disturbed by hotel staff! Got an excellent B&B inclusive rate by booking well ahead. Buffet breakfast was adequate. Small discount available at NCP.

Room Tip: Book well ahead to secure a great rate.

The hotel is very clean and central. The staff were friendly and there's a lovely little pub right next door. It's also close to the St Peter's Square tram stop which was handy for the football at Old Trafford. We did a bit of shopping on the Saturday and were able to drop stuff back during the day. Also, we walked home from a night out in the centre so that'll tell you how close it is from Piccadilly Gardens - maybe 15 mins max. Will stay again.
