Owner description: We're an award-winning producing Theatre in the centre of Manchester. As well as classics from William Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Oscar Wilde, Noel Coward, and Anton Chekhov, we're also one of the country's leading theatres for new writing, with over 125 premieres in the theatre history! The unique design means that none of the 760 seats are more than nine metres from the circular stage, with seats placed all around the auditorium, giving views from all angles. The Great Hall surrounds the Theatre, and this houses The Round restaurant, Bar Exchange, the Craft Shop and exhibitions, the Education Lounge and workshops, the Information Point, the Mezzanine Gallery exhibitions, as well as Friday evenings' FREE entertainment SPECIAL FX.And we're open on a Sunday too! With brunch served in our Great Hall cafe and free entertainment during the day.

“Royal Exchange”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

An excellent theatre in a historic, well preserved building which gives the theatre a unique setting and atmosphere. Right in the heart of the great city of Manchester. There are some fantastic performances presented by hard working professional actors and crew. I recently saw Accrington Pals there and this tragic true story was brought to life by the excellence of the scenery as well as the performances of everyone involved. Have a look at what's on, and if there's something that appeals to you then go, you won't be disappointed.

A small unusual threatre, everyone should watch something there.
Its a very intimate venue, and a great location to go for a meal or drinks afterwards.

“To kill a mockingbird”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Saturday 23 February matinee. Attended the theatre to see an adaption of Harper Lees to kill a mockingbird. You must see this what a great 3 hours. The actress who plays scout is really good and in some ways similar to the film. All the member of the cast were really good, and kept the production to the book and film. Both my wife and I had a great afternoon. YOU MUST SEE THIS.

“no trip to Manchester is complete without a visit here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Manchester has some great theatre venues but this is definitely the best. Right in the centre in a historic building it offers a unique experience in a small, circular, intimate theatre. There are lots of bars and restaurants round and about for before and after performances and don't be put off buying cheaper tickets on the highest level-it's small enough that every seat is a good one. Can't wait to go back...
