“Relaxed atmosphere & efficient service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

I went earlyish on a Sunday evening. Quick & effective service. Pleasant atmosphere. I ordered a Pizza Greca, which could have had a little more flavour but overall good food. As previous reviews, service was added on the bill, which does rankle.

“Fine for a no nonesense meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

I went with a friend for an early dinner before a concert. This is one of those restaurants that always seems to have been there but you never go to. It's not trendy or fashionable but it seems to have loyal followers.
we were in a bit of a hurry so only had mains. The menu is huge and it was hard to choose what to have. I wanted a chicken dish but it came with rice and I don't really associate Italian restaurants with rice. As a result I made a quick decision to have meatballs and spaghetti (maybe I was feeling a bit NYC). My friend went for the lasagne. My dish was OK, lots of spaghetti in a tomato sauce that tasted a bit odd with three meatballs on top. I was a bit disappointed by the low number of balls and the taste of the sauce. It was OK. My friend's lasagne was very good but mouth burningly hot. The service was fine, not great, not personal, not bad.
This is a good place to come if you want to eat without dressing up, without spending a lot or it's not a special occasion. Good, straight forward food served by nice people

“Very Good but check the bill....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

We popped in for a late lunch here after attending the Professional Beauty North Exhibition at Manchester Central (GMex.) It was just around the corner.
The food was excellent, the service was spot on but, as per other reviews the service charge was included, which should always be an optional extra if there is any class about an establishment.
We were overcharged for the wine, which we pointed out and had rectified.
It always bothers me when a restaurant overcharges as I ran a business at one time and always knew exactly how much everything cost and so did my staff, so you can't help be feel that it wasn't a mistake. It was the manager who wrote out the bill as well.
The bill was itemised but his writing was so bad and it was so messy that it took quite a time to decipher what was what .... but we didn't let that put us off challenging it.
Enjoy this restaurant but be mindful of this.

“Gorgeous food but check your bill for "optional" tip!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

Went up to Manchester for a girlie weekend with friends. Stumbled across this restaurant and it looked inviting and the menu looked very nice. All three of us had different starters and main courses and every dish was brought out in a timely manner with the food piping hot and cooked superbly. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Only negative which another reviewer mentioned is that an "optional" 10% tip is automatically added to your bill and you have to ask them if you want it taken off.
