4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Stayed one night place very roomy downstairs, breakfast very nice. Room fulfilled the requirement only thing wrong was the skylight dirty but can live with that. Very good staff and fantastic location fir the centre of Manchester and very close to train station. Would definitely stay again.

Good Morning
Thanks for your review following your recent visit, we only have a few rooms with skylights and these have a dark frosted coating on the windows to diffuse the light and to keep the room dark. Your nice comments will be forwarded onto the staff who do work hard. hopefully we will see you again shortly.

Stayed in two different rooms over the holiday weekend, separated by a couple of days. I'd found a sub-£40/night price on a hotel website and as I traveled alone, I had no need to impress. Front desk was very helpful and speedy, even letting me check in before 10am and accommodating a bag in storage while I was traveling elsewhere.

The rooms were similar, except once I had a shower, once a full bath. The decor certainly could use updating, but then you'd be paying more, too. Single bed (at that price) was in good shape, a desk and television provided, plenty of power outlets everywhere. Showers were not intuitive for a non-native, and the water pressure in the sink was less than optimal (both rooms). There didn't appear to be temperature control, so it felt rather stuffy in the room.

The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Piccadilly station, and the street is well-traveled. There's a Wetherspoons two doors down, and if you need a free phone, why, there's no shortage of folks hawking them. Plenty of better pubs within easy walking distance, though your quality eating options are somewhat limited nearby. Close view of the massive Ferris wheel, too. Though I was oblivious to their existence, apparently there's been an issue with ladies of the evening in the area attempting to use the Gardens' services, of which they do not approve.

Over all, of course things could be improved, but at this price, it's not a priority. Everything I needed was there, I felt safe, and proximity to the train helped tremendously. I'd stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a full bath instead of the shower-only.

Good Morning and thanks for the review following your review following your recent visit. Our front desk staff do work hard and although check in is not officially until 2pm, we will always check you in early if the room is free to save you from hanging around killing time after a journey.
You mention our location is good and in the busy Piccadilly area with good access to lots of amenities and attractions. Sorry that you had a problem with the water pressure and regards to the bath and showers, the majority of our rooms have bath and showers. We look forward to your next visit.

Stayed at the gardens hotel on Saturday the 24th of may for our anniversary my wife wanted to try a night out in the village and this hotel was close. After reading some of the bad reviews I was a bit worried. Arrived at the hotel at 11.00am was given a room straight away even though check in wasn't till 2.00pm reception staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you got to the room which was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and I mean spotless could not fault this hotel at all excellent location walking distance to the town centre shops pubs and restaurants will definitely be using this hotel again keep up the good work guy's. Good Morning and thanks for posting a review and for the 5 stars, it is always nice when someone has read a bad review and is concerned to have a good experience at the hotel, Although check in is advertised as 2pm, we will always endeavour to check someone in if they arrive earlier, I will pass on your comments on to the staff who get a lot of positive feedback on the friendliness and also to the housekeeping team who work very hard to keep the hotel clean and tidy. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel soon.

This was the third time for me staying at the gardens hotel this time I chose it after a spa day on quay street as it was near and wanted to go to canal street that night which is only a 8 min walk.
Checkin was swift we got a nice large twin room at the front for a Friday nite we paid 40 quid via hotel website with a lovely full breakfast included booking and late rooms wanted 49 with no breakfast you could also help yourself to the continental buffet and toast.
Would defo stay again.

Great hotel. The location is the city center close to shops and shopping malls, you just walk outside the hotel and there is the city center of Manchester. The hotel is stylish, room is warm and very pleasant. Inside decor in the hotel is beautiful. Amazing not expensive price for such a great hotel. Makes you want to come to this hotel again. I really enjoyed staying there. Thank you.
