“Staying at Sachas Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

The location of the hotel was excellent right in the centre of Piccadilly, unfortuantely there is no car park and the hotel's customers have to deal with Taxis. I have stayed in this hotel the first week of August 2012. What I can tell you is that it's a very budget category hotel. Just expect to have the minimum from breakfast to your bedroom.

I admittedly booked as it was cheap but I was still hoping for some value. Alas the hotel looked very in need of decorating, the temperature was boiling despite attempts at controlling the air con and the staff seemed to feel it an inconvenience to even be briefly polite. I wouldn't recommend it, save yourself the bother at book a travelodge or anything else. This was a last minute booking but still sadly a mistake.

My partner and i used this hotel for 1 night, Nov 1st. Basically it served it's purpose. A bed for the night, after the fantastic Muse gig.
I have to agree with most of the reviews on this site, and others. A bit tired and run down. We experienced the following ......
Faulty electrics, many of the lights did'nt work. Faulty key card or lock. took ages to get back in our room. Bathroom ceiling coming away. Lifts took forever to arrive. Staff who just go through the motions like robots, and don't seem interested in you at all. Internal room, no windows. Air con that whirrs away noisily all night, but does'nt seem to have any effect whatever setting you have it on. Toilet cistern that dribbles loudly for about an hour after flushing. You would really expect a bit better for £97 room only.
That said, the bed was clean and comfortable. Towels were clean. And the shower was hot and powerful. But you get that in hotels half the price, and so you should.
I would only ever use this hotel again as a last resort. In fact it was a last resort this time, as all the better hotels were fully booked. My fault, i'll book earlier next time. Could'nt fault the location however. Just minutes to all the shops, bars, arena and rail station.
It's a shame really, given the above, as this place could be so much better, given the right investment.

The location of the hotel was excellent right in the centre of Piccadilly, unfortuantely there is no car park and the hotel has a deal with a city centre car park provider but this is a good 10mins walk away. The hotel itself is a typical city centre hotel obviously has a massive turnover of guests through the doors. The room was quite small but clean and the bathroom Ok the real downside was the bed which was like a slab of concrete. We stayed one night and had a drink in the bar which was reasonably priced but selection was poor and not a welcoming bar. The breakfast was adequate but thats all that can be said for it. We payed very little for the room on a late deal so it was fantastic value but I would be dissapointed if we had paid the standard room rate. I belive we got what we payed for and cannot complain of the value. The dissapointing thing for me from a personal point of view was the indifference of the staff from the check in desk to the bar to the breakfast staff there was not a welcoming feeling. It can make or break a stay if the staff can at least smile and take some interest in the guests

we recently visited this hotel a group of 8 of us from work went away with national holidays .
although it looks shabby from the outside it was better once inside ,and they are closing for a refurbishment in a few weeks only one of the rooms had problems which were resolved , it could have done with the heating on longer as it was cold and the some of the staff could do with re training on customer care and to speed up a bit , the girl behind the bar was lovely and always smiling the restaurant manager went out of his way for one of our party who is a celiac

The key card would not open the first room we where given The duty manager said he would send for maintenance.Wind whistled through the windows causing the curtains to flap.Next all the lights went out.The second room we were given slightly better except half the lights didn't work.,the hair dryer glowed red and just hummed. The bathroom was clean but extremely shabby.
Breakfast was interesting to say the least. Food cold mushrooms like card board.
Toaster kept stopping, another guest told us to step on the plug under the table to get it going again. Vending machine didn't work. Felt sorry for the staff having to deal with all the complaints and people cancelling rooms. This hotel has a big problem with its electrics. Would not recommend in its present state.

Awful place, room had broken tv, plug in bathroom broken, no teaspoon in room with tea facilities, room cold, toast machine on breakfast room went up in smoke, the list could go on and at £100 per night expected better, was so awful could not wait to leave after one night and left feeling grubby as hotel feels dirty and uncared for, also 20 minute queue to check in due to lack staff. The staff were helpful the only good part about this stay.
