“Different food, cooked well”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Ate hear on a quiet ish Sunday afternoon.
Menu is different with some great alternatives to the norm.
This restaurant offers a menu leaning heavily toward Pakistani food as well as Punjabi style food. Nothing wrong in that, it is good to see a non standard menu.
Food was well cooked and flavorsome.
The fish starter was "melt in your mouth" and the Bindi bahji used fresh okra. Great.
Only disappointment was the dessert menu being biased against standard Indian sweets.
I am sure that they do this for a reason though.
Would recommend this restaurant for good non standard Asian food.

“Still Good, but a lot more expensive.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Have visited this restaurant since 1995, when the original owner had it. The sons now run the business.

The food is very tasty and delicious as ever, even though the menu appears to have slimmed down its offerings.

The food now are more expensive than when the 'Father' used to have the restaurant. Could it be that since they have accepted 'Taste-Card' which offers 2 for 1 promotions prompted the increase? I am a member, but have never used it here.

Used to go every week, some times twice a week. Have introduced lots of friends, family and clients to them in the past. Have to think twice now.

I only visit every now and then now. It's delicious food but not at any price. It's a shame that they have changed, Does not appear to be as busy as when the 'Father' ran it.

“Amazing food and ambience but with a VERY long wait”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

We visited this restaurant as a family of 8 on an impulse on Friday night. We had 3 young children in the party.

Walking into this restaurant you can tell from the decor that the place will be different to the other fare on the curry mile. Viewing the menu you can see the traditional menu (some based on famous Lahore dishes were we originate from) and notice that the range variety and dishes is extensive and original. We selected several dishes and decided to have everything delivered together, we ordered drinks and then we waited. The first 15mins was fine, the next 15 was harder... After 45minutes of waiting we beckoned over the waiter who said he would check. He didn't .. He walked elsewhere. After our third attempt and 50minutes we asked a new waiter how actually asked and told us it would be 5 more minutes. So 50-55mins later our food had arrived. Which may have been acceptable had we not had hungry children in our group.

Anyway that aside once the food came our expectations were more than fulfilled.. Fresh, well spiced and beautifully presented. We loved the food! Kids loved the Gunpowder Fries and everybody loved the curries ... You won't find food like this on the curry mile. We stayed and had desserts (apple filled samosa v.nice).. Paid and left.

So if you want great food, atmosphere but are prepared to wait (and wait)... This is your place.

“Yummy food and good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

I recently visited this restaurant with my parents for my mums birthday. We had booked a table as it can get very busy.
Shown to the table straight away and we had drinks and poppadoms on the table within 5 mins. They where a bit slow clearing away the plates and chutney tray but it gave us time to digest our poppadoms before the main. Main was very nice as always and i took the rest home, as there was too much for me to eat.
Over all great dining experience

“fabulous food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Bank Holiday Monday but the request for a 'quietish' table was accommodated. Excellent selection of food. Of course we ordered far too much and it was all tasty. Also good drinks menu, including cocktails - watermelon daiquiri went down rather well.
Will return
