“good quality hotel, does what is says on the tin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2011

Stayed at this express on stop over before going for an early morning flight from Manchester airport. Service was good and room had all you needed for a stop over. Ample desk space to work, Bed had choice of pillows on which made a nice change. Taxi ordered as request on check in and came on time. Only downside was that Bandstand restaurant just next door, i made the mistake of eating there but you should aviod like the palgue. I should point out that this is nothing to do with the hotel. The Hotel does have a limited food menu wish i wish i had eaten from.

We booked a family room for the night, football & shopping trip! We arrived early & were able to check in & leave our bags in the room early. The car park outside is free & plenty of space. It isnt far from Trafford Centre. The room was clean & roomy. The staff were friendly. The breakfast, included in price was great value. We didnt eat dinner at the hotel as there was a pub next door. The value was fantastic especially as it was clean & tidy, £55 for 2 adults & 1 child. Cant go wrong. Only slight issue was with the roudy lads outside our room at 0400hrs, waking me! I complained & was offerred a further night, of which I couldnt take as we needed to be home for work. Otherwise we would have taken them up on it! Great for a cheap night away.

Stayed here for a training day, 1st time in a holiday inn express, the room was spotlessly clean, well designed, warm and comfortable.
But it was so let down by the food, had the authentic Italian pizza with mozzarella £7.95 and the fries (the choice was very limited) pizza rock hard with next to no cheese at all, oven chips with burnt edges - inedible, the mcdonalds across the road would have seemed cordon bleu in comparison. Breakfast was worse, the fruit was tinned PEARS?!
No plain yoghurt, the toaster was stet 'burn' but apparently the setting could not be changed but it was 'all right on Sunday when we had lots of guests' scrambled egg the texture of dust, beans so dried up it was one lump or two, and sausage cheap and fatty. Unfortunately lunch there was included on our course - more rock hard pizza, burnt oven chips, dried up sandwiches and grey meat sausage rolls. I am not a fussy eater, but this was so disappointing. I would stay in the hotel again, but would definitely eat out.

We stayed there over the week end as a base to go to Belle Vue stadium as well as shopping in Manchester city centre. The price was very good, we took the business package which was a very good deal. There is free car park on site, the hotel is well located and close to Manchester and its amenities.
The bedroom was clean and spacious and of a good standard.
Our only issue was that we didn't sleep very well due to some guests near us who were very loud and carried on being noisy until 4am.....We told the morning receptionist but he didn't really appeared to be interested in what we had to say which was a bit disappointing but apart from that our stay was lovely.....
We have stayed there before and loved it the first time but this time it was spoilt a little bit due to the noise.
Overall, it is good value for money with a very good location.

We booked this hotel on-line to attend a funeral in Manchester. Staff were great from reception to bar staff and housemaids, I thought that for the price I paid £198 for 2 double rooms for 2 nights that is just what we would get. Included in this was breakfast and tea/coffee facilities in room. Comfy rooms with great shower hair-dryer a real wee home from home. They serve a limited menu for evening meals but next door is a super restaurant The Bandstand and we ate there. Thank you all

Stayed at this hotel over the New Year period as we were taking in a Man City game on New Years day.We all had a brilliant stay.Firstly the check in was fast and we were allocated, as requested ,a quiet room. The room itself was very clean and once we switched the heater on it took no time at all to heat up.The complimentary breakfast was really good with cereals, scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, yogurts etc, etc. The only negative that I would comment on is the fact that some people come down to breakfast still dressed in their pyjamas which I feel is something the hotel should stop. There is also a pub/restaurant just across from the hotel which serves very good pub grub at decent prices. The location of the hotel is also very good as it is a 5 minute drive to either the City of Manchester stadium or the city centre. The local area is a bit mixed. We took a walk to the local Tesco and although we never felt unsafe there are certain things that we seen that would suggest that it is not the best of areas.Saying that I would not dwell on this as it is unfair on the review of this hotel.

Stayed here again on 30th Dec. for a trip to the dogs at Bellevue. Room was spotless as usual. We have found this hotel to be very quiet & peaceful at night, the "man" up there ^^^^ who says it is a rough area should maybe take his mum with him nest time, to hold his hand. We walk to and from the hotel to Bellevue at night, with 2 kids & have never felt other than safe.
The pre-booked rate we paid was £44 for B&B, which is hard to beat for 2 adults & 2 kids.
We will be staying everytime we treat ourselves to a night at the dogs.
